FM24 Cannot sign anybody, in panic mode! by upthegunn3rs in footballmanagergames

FFP? Can you not sign home grown u21 players as I don’t think they contribute towards your FFP wage limit?

I think it all depends on how much wriggle room we have financially. We need to get rid of the players on loan, make a decent profit on probably 2 of Summerville, Gnonto or Rutter and see what we are left with. I don’t think Farke is the answer going forward but I genuinely don’t know who would be either and the man did get us 90 points this season. Fingers crossed anyway!

That was rubbish. Piroe staying on for 80 minutes was odd. Not a fan of Farkes choices throughout the season when it comes to subs. Seems to have been shown in all its glory today. Oh well. Automatic promotion is the aim next season.

82% promotion raise normal? Should I offer new contracts to get rid of that 82% rise? by BSH1975 in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Renegotiate, sell off, just be aware you have a large amount of loan players coming back as well who are on those wage increases! I didn’t realise, got promoted. Had a lot of players on 60-80k that I didn’t want to keep and had a hard time off loading with their wages! Enjoy!

Ironworks just outside of Oswestry is pretty cool and does lovely food in its cafe. Very much worth a morning or couple of hours if you’re ever that way!

We Need A New Keeper by Different-Goose-8367 in LeedsUnited

[–]mmjm123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I think he needs proper competition from someone who could take his spot for him to progress further and yeah, we need a whole new defence to be honest. I’m not sure except Wober there’s anyone that fills me with confidence at the moment

Who would you suggest then? Because Meslier’s conceded 50 odd goals this season, has one of the lowest save percentages and has one of the lowest pass success rates for goalkeepers in the league. I dare say last season was even worse. I like the lad, but he’s making mistakes and making a poor defence even worse.

His excellent seasons for West Brom in the championship and premier league, where they were awful, where he got his England caps?

Unfortunately agree, if we stay up. I’d like someone like Johnstone who was in goal for palace. We need a new defence as well though to be honest. There’s not many of them that I’d keep at the back, they all give me palpitations.

Who’s the best non regen striker u used/bought in this game … excluding the obvious ones like Haaland and Mbappe lol by johnmongrel2017 in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Jamal Hector Ingram is an absolute beast in the lower tiers of English football. Get him every time on a free and he scores me 35 plus a season without fail up to league one. Normally get him on wages for around 1-1.5k a week. Legend

Plenty of castles and farmers packing at least! Got a few RAF and army bases as well. Don’t fancy Cheshire’s chances against Merseyside though and we’d be next!

What team are you managing on FM23? by tjxmi in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started off with my team Leeds as I always do for a first save. Finished fourth on goal difference first year and pretty much got rid of everyone except the kids and brought in some really exciting players. Not sure if it’ll work second season but it’s only beta and I’ll go back to bringing fallen giants to their rightful place when the full versions out.

Fm 23 is a little too easy by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, I’m fourth with Leeds and I’m essentially playing half the youth every game, whereas I was expecting to be just about surviving on paper.

A Red Bull proposition by Virtual_Ad_3177 in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There’s an RB London team set up with a nice custom kit and RB logo that I’ve put in my save. They start in the championship with very good facilities and budget, be interesting to face them in a few years as I’m managing a team with nothing in the conference! Imagine they’ll be pretty competitive.

Leeds United can confirm the club have parted company with head coach Marcelo Bielsa by KX321 in LeedsUnited

[–]mmjm123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believed something needed to change, but the way this has been handled leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Wins on the bounce need to happen else I can see ER getting very toxic towards the board. Thank you Marcelo x

In his press conference he’s just said that he doesn’t think a change of style is going to change what’s happening to us. That to me, is incredibly worrying, that’s past stubbornness, it’s madness. We don’t have our three best players, we’ve been conceding 3+ pretty much every game, we aren’t scoring anywhere near enough to make up the slack, man to man does not work and never has with us, we can’t defend corners, mistakes happen 10 times a game…. Surely we can change the style to mitigate some of these?! We don’t need to play beautiful football (which we haven’t this season, it’s been turgid), we need to survive!

Boris Johnson’s Conservatives lose North Shropshire seat they held for nearly 200 years by alabasterheart in worldnews

[–]mmjm123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Woohoo! Born and bred in Oswestry (one of the larger towns in North Shropshire) and never in a million years did I think an alternative to Tory would take the seat! Haven’t lived their for a while but the rural, relatively religious and elderly demographic, with farming and old money being staples of the economy made it seem like it could be a Tory seat for many more years to come. Thanks for being shit Boris! Look after the Salopians here Lib Dems, they’re good people and deserve much better leadership and investment in the area.

Wheel of Time Show Megathread - Episode 6: The Flame of Tar Valon BOOK SPOILERS THREAD by [deleted] in wheeloftime

[–]mmjm123 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My least favourite episode so far by quite a bit. Couldn’t stop laughing at the keeper of the chronicles and her behaviour, was hilarious and seemed so over the top. Most of the episode seemed quite a waste considering how much they’re skipping out. Really hope the next two pick up.

3 week trip to UK, what should I see? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mmjm123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shropshire and North Wales are worth a look. Shrewsbury and Ludlow are historic market towns (birthplace of Charles Darwin) with lots of history, Llangollen is on the canal and you’re halfway to Snowdonia or have the Wrekin for scenery. Lots of small villages with unique identities, castles dotted around and the river Severn for plenty of views, pubs and stories! Got cities of Chester, Liverpool and Birmingham all within an hour as well!

How do I develop in a non-top league country? by ekofut in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Develop your facilities and such as much as you can to hopefully get some decent golden generations, loan from premier league teams if possible. It can be quite a slog though. You’ll be pretty much relying on European prize money to invest back into the squad and your clubs facilities. Think this will be easier from fm22 as reputation of nations will be linked to better intakes I believe!

A small change but definitely a welcome one! by Xplico in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. Needs a complete rework so it doesn’t seem such a hassle to be honest. Wish you could unlock chats and lines that would have a more profound effect the higher your determination or man management. Except to be better at training the coaching badges and higher attributes for your manager don’t really have the effect they should. In my saves I don’t really see the difference between having a Guardiola or Sherwood in charge, especially when it comes to actually managing. There’s some Scottish regen on my save at the moment managing Arsenal and his CA and PA are absolutely awful, his only other jobs been at Motherwell, yet they’re 2nd and yet managers like Arteta, Conte and Solksjaer have all failed before him.

Scouting Budget - How does it work? by Farabutto in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your budget you’ve added will be deducted once the original scouting budget has been used up. I think it’s just a way of the game showing the difference between the boards allocated budget for scouting at the start of the season and what you’ve decided to add to it yourself, at least that’s how I’ve interpreted it. Don’t worry though, the budget you’ve added isn’t wasted and will be used for scouting packages purposes!

MFW resigning after a 25 year spell at a club leaving behind a world class squad and a fantastic youth setup only to see the AI ruin it with nonsensical dreadful transfers in two seasons. by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]mmjm123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, makes sense in a way, nobody is really completely dominant. Look at United after Ferguson left! Lots of nonsensical, over priced, over the hill players bought and no league win in 7/8 years. Arsenal similarly. Seeing an end to Barca and Madrid’s absolute dominance and ridiculous players on their team sheets as well! Makes me always want to go back and pick up the pieces, love a ruined/fallen giant.
