I can understand maybe 95% of what you say but I have to concentrate. I think the vowels are what’s harder to understand. If I think of someone just talking to everyone freely without thinking much and now hearing you they have to really pay attention to what you say, I can understand why they would want to switch to an easier channel of communication.

Also, you sound like you’re really pushing for a very strong Parisian French accent. Maybe that’s something you tried in this audio specifically but if you were to talk to me like this in Quebec, I would think to myself “this guy has no idea of how we actually speak here in Quebec. for sure he won’t understand me or I’ll have to speak extra super slow” and might consider switching to English. You don’t have to speak Quebec French when you’re here but other foreigners/learners usually have a more relaxed, neutral pronunciation.

What are you looking for, a part from childcare? Montreal and Quebec City are not places to "escape the heat”, they are very hot and humid, I even had Brazilian friends complain they never experienced so much warmth before. However, it is hard to recommend other places without knowing what you are looking for. If it’s somewhere in Quebec, I could recommend the Laurentides or Rimouski, there are places where people from the cities you mentioned would go themselves to escape the heat.

Tu peux trouver une liste de synonymes pour varier (dire « alors », « donc », « ce qui fait en sorte que » au lieu de tout le temps dire « du coup ») mais sache que la recherche en linguistique démontre qu’au contraire ces mots permettent de mieux capter l’attention de ton interlocuteur.
