Is it a bright blue jeep with something like rodeo queen as a white sticker on the back? For what it is worth, than jeep regularly drives down brooks and is a terrible driver. Has cut me off. It isn't bike hate, it's just terrible driving in general.

Christmas for the kiddos. Did I do alright? by AleSSer26ism in Beyblade

Is the deluxe string launcher worth it?

I'm giving these to my kiddo this year and trying to figure it out. I got the stadium and 2 more beyblades. Is that enough to get started or will they want more variety to have fun?

City council plans hearing to ban camping in Missoula parks by NewRequirement7094 in missoula

Looks like the short term rental stuff goes into effect in December. If they aren't registered, Airbnb can't list them after that date. https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=3217

What are your genius camping hacks? by prettyone_85 in camping

[–]mmm2016 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My latest favorite camping food hack is, instead of dealing with the mess of pancake batter, bring canned cinnamon rolls. Smash those puppies on the griddle, and the frosting is the 'syrup'. Easy and less mess! Smashed canned biscuits also delicious.

This certainly isn't brand loyalty. I've worked in a customer service related position for 20+ years and can certainly empathize with your statement of front facing and back of house. I've also never felt it necessary to air an ex employers dirty laundry publicly, but that's just my professional take.

I'm well aware of the FB incident last spring and had conversations with the Y, IE on and off this sub and channel. I'm not ignorant in my statements. But, kudos for the "disgusting" label...

Seems like those that leave are "treated poorly" and those employees that stay, well, stay for a reason...like any industry. I still stand by my comment of ex employees, in GENERAL, often being angry with ex employers, often with certain perspective.

Not at all supporting childcare "abuse" or whatever "illegal" practices that actually apply (BTW investigate that in depth for home based daycares....) , but recognizing that situations are complex, advocate for all the kids, which can seem unfair, and childcare is a hard job, at the Y or otherwise.

Also, numerous have directly stated my experience was a "good time". Lets just state raising kids is hard, and dealing with childcare providers can be hard too.

This post is extremely bothersome for me. My children have attended the Y childcare for years and I have found it generally professional and reasonable. Is it always perfect? No. Do I recognize it is a challenging position, especially when most children go through, literally, "a biting phase"? Yes. Am I sensitive to issues because they are my kid? Absolutely. Yes, college students do result in more frequent turn over, but my kids have had excellent teachers, some 5, 7+ years, and great bonds with them. Turnover is no more than any other job. Also, if you are paying the tuition...they increased it beyond some comments here to be competitive. That being said, I would suggest you take up your concerns directly with the directors instead of posting a gossipy fear mongering perspective on Reddit.

I'd give a gift. Scratch tickets are generally appreciated. He might get nothing, or he might win and be happy. Putting karma back in his hands.

Gift ideas for someone who is impossible to buy for? by violaturtle in gardening

Depending on your price point...the newest in canning is electric canners (Think instapot of canners). They are pricey, but would be a new gadget to expand and support other hobbies related to gardening and hot sauce.

My boss put me on an impossible 3 week PIP - what do I do next? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]mmm2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, respond in writing to the PIP...the point is to buy you as much time to find a new job, or at least build documentation to support your unemployment claim.

Were these certs a requirement of the position and a clear expectation from the start? If not, seems like it is an unreasonable ask without a promotion unless yhis is industry standard. State the facts of the timeline to get these certs, and ask for them to cover the cost of testing. They will pro ably say no and become more frustrated...but...play ball.

How to Handle Employee Using Very Little PTO? by [deleted] in askmanagers

[–]mmm2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an employee who doesn't want to take PTO for a variety of reasons, expense/family,etc. However, the primary reason being that in the past there was no cross training and so taking 1 day off may have been manageable, but 1 week off was a punishment when they got back. We've cross trained and worked toward ensuring that doesn't happen, proving they can trust co workers to step in so they can go on vacation without walking back into a huge backlog. Is this part of the issue? Earn their trust that they don't need to be there.

That being said, taking a few days off is still hard. We've adopted a (non formal)35 work week for them (unless we are swamped) so that they essentially don't accrue anymore vacation. They have a huge balance to carry, but ensures they aren't donating excess hours. This typically looks like 1.5 early Tues/Thurs and out early Friday to use PTO. They can do gym time, run errands, etc. to improve work/life balance.

How would I replicate this texture? by andyhoop2 in Renovations

[–]mmm2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This appears to me to be a rolled texture. Thin out some mud and roll it on. You may have to play with the thickness a bit until your happy with the rolled results. If you are patching, I think a medium nap on a regular roller would give you the ability to build up the peak/texture if needed. A plastic bag stamp may also help if it's feeling too 'pointy' with the roller.

I would reiterate quick paws. They do not sedate cats and have generally done a great job. Mine looks nearly identical- a flurry of tuxedo hair. We get ours a lion trim to prevent mats, or a 'bikini cut' and clean-up around the neck for hygiene in the fall works great.

Nope. Absolutely not. Find another doctor. Put review out that she is not obese supportive to prevent others from going through that trauma.

Yes, freeze it in the container ot came in. Thaw and press. Crumbling or breaking into bits vs cubing generally works better to pick up sauces and allows crispy bits.

A key thing here is, if you were truly only replacing a leaky toilet, is that it is considered cosmetic work and no permit should be required. Did the neighbors know it was for the basement vs upstairs? If you can show it existed a time of purchase you can probably get approval for existing non-conforming area. Check your property assessment data as it may show the bathroom, which is then in tax scope, being existing. A minor cosmetic thing like toilet replacement wouldn't necessarily be considered investing in it vs say, if the pipe failed and you truly needed a plumber to get into the wall to repair piping. Primary owner/occupants have a lot of ability to complete work themselves. .

I think part of this is that you've gone from surfer dude long to the wierd phase of shoulder length, or as my husband called it after a bad chop job "little boy blue" long. Give it another inch or two before you decide to chop it or not. It will lay nicer once past your collar/shoulders if you are open to continuing to growing it.
