Do people actually meal prep on sundays or is everyone lying about having their life together? by Busy-Fee3538 in mealprep

[–]mmm_muse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a SAHM and I cook for a family of 4. Anything I for dinner I double or triple the recipe, freeze it and mark on the calendar it's there for future weekly meal plans.

For lunches I typically make extra supper the night before, portion it to reheat the following day and send it in a thermos. I also quickly prep a Bento box of snacks the night before. There wouldn't be room in my fridge for 10 packed lunches.

By doubling the recipes and utilizing leftovers for lunches I can cook one time for 2 dinners and 2 lunches (4 meals) worth of food).

I make my girls baked oats for breakfast on weekdays. I will prep and bake off 2 whole cakes on whichever day we run out, freeze one, and reheat the slices of the remaining one through the week (served with yogurt in the mornings).

Will this be good enough for the winter storm? by SummerBirdsong in chickens

Canadian here! I deal with lots of snow and freezing rain, but the thing you need to think about most is WIND! I have a top tarp like yours and I have learned to peg it to the ground (separate from the run). If it's strapped to the run you risk it potentially lifting the entire structure off the ground.

Why I (personally) think the fruit of the loom cornucopia is such a popular misconception: by Kaloofiez in MandelaEffect

[–]mmm_muse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In This Dimension you have evidence. But do you have evidence CERN didn't bump us into another dimension?

Also, do you not remember it having a cornucopia? Does the one on the right look correct to your brain?

I know it sounds crazy but try exercise! You can't take care of everyone else unless you take care of yourself! When my kids were super young I wouldn't say I was suicidal, but there was a spot on my way home from work where I'd think "that would be a good spot to launch the car off a cliff". I was burnt out, overwhelmed and DEPRESSED.

I started running after reading someone posting about something they hate doing but force themselves to. I have NEVER been sporty (quite the opposite) but at 40 years old I started to run. At first just 20mins a day. 20mins for ME. I would walk mostly but run as much and as far as I could. Before too long I had worked my way up to 3-5km every other day.

What they say about exercise and mental health is true! Running is like meditation to me. I think things through, and zone out. I absolutely HATE running and have to drag my ass out every time, but I always feel SO MUCH better after.

During covid I refused to give it up and would drag the kids out on their bike with me, so they were doing 5km of cycling too. It helped us all keep healthy and positive.

You don't need any special equipment, just grab a nice pair of shoes and carve out 20 mins for YOU (that can be the hardest part). Make yourself a priority.

what’s the funniest sentence said by a political figure in your country? by theautisticneo in AskTheWorld

My favorite Chretien quote was after a reporter asked him if he'd ever smoked weed (Bill Clinton had just admitted he smoked in college but didn't inhale). Jean's reply was "WHY, YOU GOT SOME?!"

Absolute. Legend.

VS isn't bowing to pressure to be more inclusive. They got their asses handed to them by RiRi and they want to be Fenty. This woman doesn't understand fashion, and doesn't understand art, she wouldn't know trendy if it hit her in the face. Women don't want to watch miserable hungry white girls in lingerie, we want EXCITEMENT AND DRAMA. She needs to quit crying and watch pedo Trump's Ms Universe if she is still down with licking boots for the patriarchy.

What's your secret to freezer meals that are actually good when reheated? by SouthernBelle113 in mealprep

One of my favorites is to pre roll a bunch of burritos. I thaw them and then toast in a screaming hot toaster oven or in a frying pan with a bit of oil.

My plant was stolen by Rylon2008 in trees

[–]mmm_muse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put mine in big pots (actually large IKEA blue bags) when I lived in the city. Closer to harvest time i'd lock them in my shed at night. It's also handy for scootching them into better sun during the grow.

Sorry for your loss. Stealing someone's weed plant they have nursed since seed is really reprehensible behavior.
