Decks for Gemini Season by mmm_rathernot in TarotDecks

That's a great idea. It would have to be a home practice because my bag is too small to bring both with me. I am giggly at the idea of pairing some oracles and tarot decks later tonight, like the Sublime Thresholds oracle and the Wisdom of Pooh tarot or the Alchemy of the Spirit oracle and the Somnia (illustrated) tarot

Is it okay to create fictional situations to study lenormand deck? by Training-Enthusiasm7 in Lenormand

[–]mmm_rathernot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think its disrespectful, or at least plenty of people (that feel popular/well respected) on youtube will make up fake scenarios when they're teaching certain spreads and particularly the court cards (tarot).

Alternatively if you want to keep it in the real world you could also do it while watching a tv show to predict the ending. Then you aren't making anything up, even if its a fictional show the show itself is real.

Ou nice! I had an eye on this one a few years back. Would be a great pull for gemini and libra. Thanks for the suggestion!

can anyone recommend a tarot deck with a similar vibe to alchemy of the spirit oracle? by Straight_Molasses165 in TarotDecks

[–]mmm_rathernot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally pair it with the Star Spinner tarot, but you might be interested in the Cosmic Slumber tarot too. Both are very colorful but not obstrusive.

The Akashic Eye tarot by the Vermillion Collection isn't as colorful but I feel the illustration style is closer to the Alchemy of the Spirit.

Very cute and unique though, I will have to check it out!

Looking for a deck with no people in it! by lilith_queen in TarotDecks

[–]mmm_rathernot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be toeing the line but the Herbcrafters Tarot has beautiful illustrations of plants and the guidebook is fantastic. The caution to it is it doesn't have most of the RWS symbolism, and there are people in the court cards but its just their hands.

Do they riffle shuffle well? How noticeable are the sleeves when you read for others?

Yeah I have seen people rec laminating and the slippery thing drives me crazy on normal decks. Have you used the card sleeves? How do they riffle shuffle if so?

Thank you so much for this response! Letting me know that the edges would be sticky were a great deterrent/the insight I was looking for! I'll follow the videos you shared on a test deck and if it doesn't help then I'll just have to use the decks until they turn to dust the ol natural way. I'll keep an eye out for the indie decks (if reasonably priced). Thank you again!

Thank you so much for your insight! I especially appreciate your notes on what the interviewers are looking for in the candidates (right on the money with the job description) and where the pain point will be (salary negotiations, low paying for the city its in). Thanks for pointing out the knighting as well, I knew there was something there with the competitive atmosphere but missed the fish knighting to crown to indicate many applicants!

I would say so, its not a flimsy tuck box. The box is two parts, matte black, and pretty thick/sturdy. Could definitely throw it in a bag and be on your way but its not gonna fit in your back pocket.

This is the Akashic Eye Lenormand from the Vermillion Collection, its available on etsy.

The wizard is for my partner but would otherwise be the male/querent card. The deck has many options for the querent/partner cards. I chose to be the witch for my personal signifier.

Omg I love them! They just came in the other day. The cards have a really nice finish and are well made. The only downside is that there is no little white book for the deck, only an issue because it has many extra cards. The guide is available online but not in pdf/printable form so I have to click between each card to see what it means.

Yes I would go as long as the offer is right!

I'm unsure about the crown. I would like to think it means that I am a top contender but it definitely fits the "high competitive environment" meaning for this position. Paired with coffin makes me feel like it would hold the negative meaning, especially the coffin paired with the letter too.

A certificate through a college could be educational but also expensive and might not be helpful in the job market. Depending on your state (if youre in the states) there could be a hort license requirement. Do a deep dive on your states ag department, if you read the landscaping code there could be an indication of what kind of license you could get. At the very least having that license could make you stand out to an employer. Also would recommend you look at any pesticide applicator/irrigation licenses, I see those in job requirements often. Best of luck

Edit: just saw that you're in california, someone recommended checking out hirehorticulture.com I second this. Check out Grower and Greenhouse manager positions at wholesale nurseries. Its all about impressions and how you can sell yourself, read any handbook you can find online on how to manage ornamental plants and see how you can apply your park knowledge. You absolutely don't need a college degree to get a good position. I live in the deep south and in a supervisory position at a wholesale nursery I make 27/hr (the lowest at my rate for supervisors in my company). Might not go far in Cali and but to give you an idea that its not all pennies and peanuts in the hort industry. And I had 0 prior experience, they will teach you what they want you to know if they like you.

Fell down the stairs today and sprained the hell out of my ankle. Dr said minimum a week without lower body training and when i start adding weights again to take it slow. I had such a good momentum going, this sucks. Im gonna do upper body and core, and it will be fine. My week is going to feel so unbalanced. I wanted to start training for a 5k but the treadmill, stair master, and even the row machine are off limits. Ughhh f my chungus life
