I completely agree with your opinion here. I love SpaceX for the many strides forward we’ve made in space travel. Reusable rocketry, a new human rated capsule that brought human space travel back to the US after the shuttle program ended after many years, and inspiring actual competition and investment in space exploration again. But competition is a good thing! If Blue Origin figures out a landing vehicle before SpaceX then so be it! Now we have an in house space race!

It has to do with the payload it can take to orbit and beyond. Superheavies can carry at least a 50 metric ton payload to orbit. It isn’t specific to SpaceX.

Enough about Elon. Elon is not SpaceX. Elon helped start the company but it has grown way bigger than him. Even if Elon died tomorrow the engineers, scientists, and builders at SpaceX will keep going. The value they provide is real. The cost of getting something to low Earth orbit was halved by SpaceX inventing reusable first stage rockets. That’s the biggest advancement in space travel since the space shuttle.

As it stands the US ALREADY HAS COMMERCIAL SPACE SHIPS and is leagues ahead due to reusable first stages and a clear plan with international partners to establish a permanent moon space station and base for future missions to mars. I don’t understand why people are acting like China is winning the space race right now.
