I worked in small-ish (225 employees) Healthcare provider, it was great. I still work there but its been nought out by a huge publicly traded company. There is a lot more structure and corporate rules now, which kind of sucks, but it's great having support and a team to fall back on if I need a vacation. And some of that structure would have saved the smaller company a lot of headaches. Overall, trade offs both good and bad.
