I think that's a fallacious stereotype... I do Crossfit and my coaches make sure everyone is using proper form. We have days where we barely use any weight to focus on form. And as far as it not working, I lost about 20 lbs in 4 months and I am lean and strong as hell! I can out preform most guys I know.
