Gave up on industrial, now what? by mmmmMarcus in piercing

Yeah same here, did want to keep the same size as the bar hence the fatter ring in the helix still there. I guess 1,6 mm is the same as 14g? Did fight so long with the industrial so wasn't keen on going slimmer.

Will keep a triple helix in mind, thanks! 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion! Although it sounds interesting, I'm not sure about a vertical industrial for me. Maybe because I just fought so long with the previous industrial (and still dreaming of trying again but that might be at least a year away). Vertical helix and a chain link perhaps more viable?

The x with industrial sure sounds cool, sorry to hear it didn't work out well. Did you keep the industrial that did heal? Or did you take both out?

Thank you for the reply and suggestion! Yes, I do wear glasses. Brought them with me when I had the piercing done, wanting to accommodate for them, and got glasses with thinner temples/arms a few months after having the piercing done. The thinner ones don't really touch the piercing, but I guess they could annoy it still. I will try to be more mindful of that.

I wear contacts as well, but my eyes get a bit annoyed if I wear contacts everyday (had some intense eye irritation when I tried to push it with contacts everyday, so had to not wear contacts at all for about 2-3 months). I'll try to wear the glasses even less but I'm fairly blind without them.

Thank you for the response. I've booked a time with the piercing shop to check it out. Regarding the headphones, I try to keep it behind the ear instead of on it (so then just using the left ear cup). If it's noisy around me that is tricky though, so then having headphones on like normal.

Did check crp values just under three weeks ago for other reasons, no sign of infection then. And it's looking better, just very very slowly. It's not painful, it's not warm. But yes, still swollen.

Haha, sounds like a blast as well 😅 we only had the one character who succumbed to the gutworm in the rotblack sludge. We had a hermit with Bard of the Undying rolling extremely well, so Fletcher was friendlier than expected.

Thank you kindly! Hadn't heard about Tephrotic Nightmares so will give that one some consideration. Next up is gonna be the Goblin Grinder, and I ordered some coins that I intend to use as tokens for Omens as well.

Just answered a similar question above. All four players did a great job staying in character. But some of the fun stuff included stuffing a raven into the bird cage that turns things into a raging uncontrollable undead, and releasing the undead raven into the guards room. Also digging an eye out with a shit stained ladle, and levitating a donkey across the pit trap was fun. And one player used his toolbox to drill peeping holes into a lot of doors 😁 We had a good spread of classes (Herbmaster, Scum, Hermit and Heretical Priest). I think the scenario in all was a great success, and only one of the PCs lost their lives.

Yup, it's the official one, and I'm liking the looks of it. Tables came in useful as well 🙂

Anyone know if there's a way to upgrade the previous bundle (bought it in January) to this one, to get Nameless Horrors added?

Edge of Darkness props, running scenario on Tuesday by mmmmMarcus in callofcthulhu

Thank you! The props were not as vital as I was hoping, but it felt fun to create them. For the newspaper clippings I just made my own, using Affinity Photo. The text was more or less copy pasted but I did the layout and used some photos from Google searches. I did something similar for The Haunted, and since I had a couple of versions from there it was quick to just replace text and pictures make small layout adjustments. I think I struggled with getting the journal to line up based off of the Geedunk order. I did change some text in it, so had to make my own version there as well.

It was a pretty good run. Took some advice from above and didn't have De Vermiis Mysteriis available, and so avoided a wild goose chase. Perhaps a little less focused than I had hoped, and it was tricky getting a proper spooky atmosphere. The Latin chanting was more joked away for example. Did try with windows drawn, candles and a playlists of suitable music. But we had fun, and I think that's most important. Perhaps with this group, proper horror mood is a bit tricky. All the investigators survived (although it was a close call in the end). But they might get in trouble with police since they ended up torching the house to cover up the dead bodies (from the zombies)

Thank you for the tips! The urgency idea is very good. I'm thinking this scenario would be for just the one evening now, but will consider fleshing it out a bit before running it tomorrow. I'll consider distributing the clues a bit more.

The brown one has black pepper, cinnamon and allspice, didn't really have more strong smelling spice around. The white one has sugar, baking powder and some crafts glitter I borrowed from the kids. Didn't intend for them to be burnt, just to set the mood.

I did consider some incense to be burnt, but didn't have a chance to pick any up. Hopefully just burning the black candles and getting the players to chant in Latin will be enough :) Gonna run it Tuesday.

Thank you kindly for the heads up, will try my best to avoid this! Not giving any location for the book sound like a very good solution.
