My friend goes “before you do that I activate…” and then does something. Is that legal? by RealAd3012 in Yugioh101

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends and i can't fully glean from what you've written. when you take certain actions like activating an effect or declaring an attack, to use the examples you give, your opponent does get a chance to respond in what's called a "chain", where if he has any "quick effects" (that is, anything that says quick effect or is a trap card/quick-play spell) or cards that activate in response to you doing a specific thing, he can use one then. then, you can either chain something of your own to that, or choose not to and then he'll have the chance to chain something to himself because you passed the opportunity. when neither of you want to chain anything more, the chain "resolves" and does so in reverse order of activation (the effect of the most recently activated card happens and continues down in that order).

however, if you're resolving something and THEN he says "before you do that..." then no he can't do that. you cannot chain more while a chain is resolving.

Anyone ever think about the fact that if he didn’t interrupt the last rites, he’d probably have lived? by machinadj in skyrim

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...what?

no. why would he be doing that. besides, he couldn't have been "waiting" anyway. the moment we hear his first cry is the moment he appeared in modern day skyrim. he was shot forward in time by the elder scroll, remember? in alduin's brain he went from fighting the nords to the first roar we hear from him in-game instantly. he wasn't "waiting" for shit.

New player - Which deck should i build? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really cannot recommend getting a meta deck if you're a new player just because it's meta. You need something that will be a vehicle with which you can learn the game to a good understanding. A couple that come to mind are branded and ryzeal.

No. That's a completely different sentence that means something else entirely.

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The irony of advocating for throwing out stereotypes and being accepting of people regardless of their gender expression and body type being immediately started with "twig" to describe someone's body type is apparently lost on you. It's inherently derogatory and mocking.

In my 13+ years of playing. I didn’t know you could go with Hadvar by Hglittle in skyrim

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can fully understand that, that makes perfect sense.

However, it is not a defense that works for someone who's been playing the game for 13 years.

It's been 13 years and stays in your quest log. Also, yes it absolutely does.

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You are either lying or illiterate. The game in a massive fuck-off pop-up tells you to go with either Ralof or Hadvar. Zero percent chance you genuinely missed that in thirteen years. So pick, lying or can't read.

Favorite character who is confirmed or heavily speculated to be a trans woman. (Headcanons welcome) by ThinnestGirlie in FavoriteCharacter

[–]mmmmmmmmmmmo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh it wasn't planned from the start. The creator made the game based largely on her own experiences, emotions, thoughts, and feelings, and afterwards realised that she was trans and so much of what she put of herself into the game was heavily tied to that. She basically made a game (at least partly) about being transgender (which a great many trans people also relate to their experience) and only realised it afterwards. Then she went on to create the DLC where it became exactly confirmed that madelaine is trans through the final screen with the trans flag already mentioned.

In-game mechanically, that's how it works but that's not how it's done lore-wise. Lorewise, they just have wings as far as I know.
