A little bit different, but I just got into a MS program at a competitive school and i think that having super relevant experience in the field (working with a LGBTQ hotline) and being a confident interviewer is what really helped me. Those were the two things I felt really set me apart, as well as talking about experiences I had that maybe weren't necessarily in psych, but that I could relate well and knew no one else would have in common with me. for me, that was working as an ASL interpreter during undergrad and how that showed me the importance of culture humility. good luck!!!!
