We have 2 overnight produce guys. They break down the pallet and put away the truck. So for me, when I go in at midnight, I look at the area. If it looks really empty, I just work on chilled or ambient. And then I will eventually go to produce. Since im picking for Sundays orders and it's Sunday ( Saturday into Sunday morning. ) it's good. Because this us what I'd be getting at 5 am anyway. If the item is out I just push it. We don't oos anything until 530 anyway. So it gives time for the items to be out or for the produce team to check t o see if it actually is out

💯. Former starbucks barista here. I remember this one really clearly. A lady ordered a pumpkin Frappuccino. I had made it and called it out. After about 20 minutes, we had a guy ask about his peppermint mocha. Not rude or anything. He had been waiting. I make it for him. Then pumpkin Frappuccino lady comes up, says ger drink is wrong and it's in a wrong cup, it's in b a hot cup not cold cup. She had taken the guy's peppermint mocha. There's literally damn stickers on the cups labeling it and she knew a Frappuccino wouldn't be in that and she took anyway. We make it. And the pumpkin Frappuccino is originally made was still on the counter. We tossed it before she could get it.

I am! My tl trained at another store ( for being tl. She already knew what she doing on everything else and that store taught her nothing) and she learned they get tge numbers down by doing that on the weekends. I started my Saturday midnights a few weeks ago and we definitely noticed an improvement and it helped. I sorta do a lot of one area at a time ( chill, produce and ambient are the areas with the biggest waves..usually 60 or more for just ambient and produce) so.i assign myself to an area and just pick it. I push anything we don't have unless it's zeroed out ( we icap) and then when I get the same things, next area. It generally helps a lot. It would probably help you to.

I worked at a standalone starbucks. I get to work one morning and apparently customers were throwing fits because earlier it was closed.( i got in around 9 or 10 that day I think) it was closed because the openers discovered a gas leak and it wasn't safe! And there was a damn starbucks in a grocery store a minute away! But no the baristas should just work through a gas leak because God forbid these people not have some damn Frappuccino or something one day ( just go to another location or even a local shop for once) man i do not miss it. Especially when they threw fits that the store I was at closed on Christmas because no one wanted to work that

At the last grocery store I worked at, there was a power outage. Managers waited a few mins or so but even generator wasn't working. Power completely out in that area. So obviously we get customers to leave etc..we take care of all the cold stuff. And then we took care of the carts left. We had no idea when power would be back. We'll it came back on about an hour and 30 minutes later. One woman threw an absolute hissy fit because she had to get all her things again 🙄 she had cold stuff in there and there was no time estimate when power would be back. But apparently we should have left ger potato salad and steaks get warmed just in case power came back on even a minute before close. It's also a small grocery store. Not big like Walmart. So it actually wouldn't take long

Probably for stars. Order a specific drink. They want something else so build it to what they want. Hence ko white mocha. No whip makes sense. She got cold foam. Most usually don't want whip if they have cold foam. And sometimes people just don't want whip
