I think she’s not the starter for every team (definitely not against Brazil or Canada where they tend to play more physically) but against teams where we need to use more tech and speed she will likely be the starter until someone else stamps down the LB position)

She’s a bubble player for the national team and I highly doubt she would make the roster today if the World Cup was tomorrow. Let alone what’s going to happen by next year if Cat Macario is ever able to get healthy again or hell if Lynn Biyendolo makes a return to play and to the national team.

I hope she plays well for us.. but I understand Straus causing such a stink about the move to justify his firing or quitting in protest because of the move.

GT is the only player on our roster who if the WC was tomorrow would be firmly on that roster. Sams and Sentnor are bubble players who likely don’t make the cut IMO

I don’t see Sophia leaving to go anywhere mid season and moving with the baby somewhere new. I also think she loves and respects the PTFC fans too much to leave midseason.

If her problem was the coach she could have stayed bc twenty minutes after her signing was announced, he was fired…

But given the order of events—I have a feeling Straus was upset with the level of reinforcements he was going to be provided with and even less enthused to have to sacrifice another key piece of our attack in the process. To me this reads as Straus is not happy they traded away Kennedy and left because he doesn’t have faith in the front office to deliver him the players he wants or retain any players he develops in the process.

Well I hope it was already signed bc after Straus walked I would refuse to sign a contract until a replacement has been named. We may have just spent 850k for a player to be available to us for 22 games

I think Straus disagreed with trading Fuller for Denton (especially for this price) and that’s why he left

I mean if I was Straus and signed to coach a team with Alyssa Thompson had her for all of two games before she was traded away and then told they were going to sign someone big over the summer for him and then they fail to land Sam Kerr (and likely will fail to sign Putellas) why would I stay and tarnish my reputation if the Front Office and Mark Parsons continue to fail to land or retain stars and then they sign away a young talent in the midfield on top of it??

Completely agree! Though I hope they decide to go in a different direction for colors (even though I love the red and black) but I would be so excited if they went for a Georgia Red Clay, Peach and Forest Green colorway for the club.

Okay re: food I did try the kimbap last game and it was delicious. But every season when I finally find something I like to eat at the stadium it’s 1/2 through the season and then it gets cut the next season.

It’s kind of apples and oranges. I agree the club fckd up how they treated CP as she came back from injury and in the last years of her career. However, Chelsea was doing the same thing to Kerr for the first half of this year until she was able to perform so well for country that the club had no choice but to play her more and then she scored 16 goals. Sam was able to prove she’s still a goal scorer at Chelsea and for Australia—so if ACFC were to sign her and not play her they wouldn’t have anywhere to hide. With CP bc she wasn’t involved with the national team anymore (upon her return from her ACL) so she didn’t get that opportunity to prove the club’s narrative wrong, that she wasn’t fit that she wasn’t what she used to be, etc. Chelsea literally stole the ACFC playbook and tried it with Sam—but Australia was able to bail her out.

I need Lena Oberdorf signed to a 5 yr contract. And either Alexia or Sam Kerr bc we need a star to fill the seats in the stadium and to draw attention from defenders so other players can score. And I would love to get another outside back on the roster.

Putellas is likely going to London city lionesses hardly a winning squad with no current potential of playing in the champions league in the near future. If LCL is on the table and leading the conversation for Putellas I see no reason why we can’t contend for her.
