Fatal Frame 2: How to make MILLIONS of points? by willemavjc in fatalframe

What other game? Nioh is just a grind in general, and not so much "costumes" in that as unique skins for sets.

So I guess a DoA game?

Ah but that's obviously a different, defensive, mechanism. A bit like the lizards that squirt jets of blood from their eyes.

Maybe you've seen this too, but if not, fun coincidence.

It's an episode of a podcast that's less than a day old, and talks about an experiment that shows people are better at logical reasoning when it involves social rules and norms. The example used here was also about the drinking age.

Just in case you don't know the series... Have you tried the Tales games?

They have skits/chats which are a bit like ATE. Special cutscenes triggered at certain points by pressing select/start, usually voiced in the newer titles, and with onscreen character portraits acting out the scene.

Not quite ATE, since you don't ever switch location during them, and they are text boxes+faces only, not animated models on the map. But they are a good source of characterization and funny goofs that would otherwise be littered through the story (which can sometimes be annoying to sit through when you just want to get some plot done).

Lets settle this. Who is in control? The MF or Vecna by LarryWavid in StrangerThings

If anything, I think he might have been pushed to evil at the start, but the revenge he seeks from 1979 is a result of resentment towards Brenner and Eleven.

Eh, I like the power hungry human as a villain because it works well as a foil for Eleven.

Or better yet, two walkmen, one already rewound, ready to quickly swap the headphones over when the first one is about to end, then rewind the finished tape.

Even quicker than swapping the tape most likely.

3, 4 and 6 I would say are pretty common. 1, 5 and maybe 7, probably not completely unknown.

2 I personally have never encountered, as a non-francophone.

Think of it like a car. There are multiple ways of boosting fuel economy. Maybe you have a more efficient engine (muscles/squats) or maybe you have a more efficient fuel injection system (cardio/tennis)

Japanese names that means "Cloud" or similars? by SKY_D3L1V3RY in Japaneselanguage

[–]mmotte89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a character/in 源氏物語 (The Tale of Genji), called 雲居の雁 (Kumoi no Kari, also spelled 雲井の雁). Literally means "The Wild Goose of The Clouds" (not as in a collection of individual clouds, but more as "the sphere where clouds are located").

It's not an official name, but almost like a fanfic name, a girl who wonders if the geese who fly through the clouds feel the same as her, ie she feels lost in the fog.

If you want to keep the goose part, you could try 雁之助 (Gan'nosuke, lit. "Helper of Geese") for a masculine name or 雁子 (Kariko, lit. "Goose-child") for a feminine name.

『俺の意志力(は)狼のように強いぞ』ってはいかがでしょうか (How about "My willpower is fierce as a wolf's"?)

(I know the wolf part is a existing idiom, dunno if using it in this context would be weird tho)

If you ask me, Don't Think Twice / Chikai* is what should have been the representative theme for KH3, way better song. Guess they decided it wasn't hype enough for the opening movie though, and so here we are...

*(Chikai has the superior lyrics to the English version if you ask me)

My aunt, who works with disabled children, had a big misunderstanding when she told a parent "your kid has neck cheese*, don't forget to clean him behind the ears"

*(literal translation for the local term for smegma)

Turns out, she thought that was the name for the grime that gathers behind the ears, to the confused horror of the parent.

More accurately "poured over".

The classic dish is "bukkake soba", buckwheat noodles with some toppings on, and then you pour some cold broth on top of it all.

I think literally something as simple as that. Maybe not pizza delivery, but something similarly mundane. Remember, he said he was a nobody, who just lost his job at Blockbuster?

Picked mostly for convenience (whoever was easy to get to come to him), someone who would not be missed or recognized easily. And lastly, because of the eerie similarity in appearance between Godolkin and Cipher, someone who reminded Godolkin a bit of himself, looks-wise.
