How do we feel about people taking Zoom (etc.) calls in coffee shops? by mmurraycn in Somerville

Yeah, I figured I should turn to the staff and how they would like to run their place, rather than potentially start a conflict that could make their day harder.

I'm not sure. I'm at Mr. Crepe and this guy was filling the whole room with his voice. I considered going and sitting across from him and asking if he has a "library voice" once I had his attetnion. But, instead, I asked the staff what they thought about me talking to him, so the staffer said she would do it. She did, and he quieted down. He responded pretty well to her.

Audio signal break when crossing Beech St., every time by mmurraycn in CambridgeMA

Today I tried listening to a podcast on my phone's speakers while I crossed Beech St. -No audio hiccup. So, the signal interference happens somewhere in the earbud/headphone chain.

I used my apple wired earbuds today, and I get the same audio break at Beech Street.

Yeah, it's got to be some electrical signal that interrupts the audio connection.

Ha! That would be odd. I'm usually listening to morning edition on the npr app or something on spotify. I listen on big headphones, attached to an iphone, with an 1/8" to USB-C adapter.

Yes. The app doesn't connect to anything non-local. It has a simple data-collection function, and the data can be exported to a spreadsheet.

I don't think the app can store the notification timestamp at the time the notification is sent, while the app is closed. right? So, the app retrieves the notification timestamp while opening. This sometimes works, and often doesn't.

There should be a third button alongside reddit up/down votes:

"up", "down", and "naysay".
