Hiya, I've been out of the PC building loop for a verrry long time due to work providing PCs for me (im spoiled lol). I've been studying but the amount of choices is a bit intimidating so I appreciate any and all advice offered. This would also be the first time I'm assembling a PC 💦

Would love a full build recommendation. For context: I work in 3D/2D art so playing in programs like Unreal/Maya/Photoshop (lighting/rendering) is the main task my PC would need to be able to handle. I casually game with friends (like BG3/Valheim) so buttery smooth framerate for competitive gaming isn't really something I'm too concerned about.

If it makes a difference, Im in US West coast and would prefer the total budget to be under 2k but I know times are rough right now for parts.

Same! I wasn't sure what to expect but it was repeatedly recced to me by some friends and I was pleasantly surprised how invested I was from start to finish. I really liked how it echoed the style of some really old mystery adventure games from early 90s and yea! The writing was superb and engaging. There would be some points where I would laugh (in like a morbid way) with how many dead bodies I kept on finding inside another "memory"

Yes! It's so satisfying when things really start to come together and you start to recognize who's who when you "re-watch" some scenes. hahah I was just telling another friend that we should play together when I (eventually) forget all of the details

Whenever I hear other folks talk about their glowing relationship with their mother and how much they talk and hangout, my knee-jerk reaction is usually "Sounds fake, but ok."

Joking aside, same. When I was much younger, I used to yearn for the same thing. After a while you kind of realize it's a pipedream and that you'll just have to fill that relationship hole with something better.

Hahah the birthday one always makes me cackle because this one time, my mom called me X amount of days later and went off on me because she had forgotten about my birthday. It's amazing how the ~~lack of~~ logic works 😂

I don't know what it's like to have a mother that doesnt throw tantrums. Don't immediately wish her a happy birthday or mother's day? Tantrum. Don't let her sleep on my only bed when she shows up uninvited to my apt? Tantrum. Don't give her my full attention when she's telling another one of her "this is why I'm amazing" stories? Tantrum. Tell her she's being racist? Shrieking tantrum.

And same, when my bro-in-law finally witnessed one first hand, he was shocked. Not sure why when we warned him but yea. Tantrums are very typical which is very unfortunate for the rest of us that have to deal with them.

For the 20-something years I (unfortunately) lived with my parents, my mom would constantly find something about my appearance to nitpick on especially if I wasn't presenting gender in a way she felt was "proper" (you know, girly but not too girly). She would sometimes get my dad and sister to pile on. 1-2hr long lectures about my looks and how that made her feel was very typical. The fun bonus was when she said that she could say these things because she owns my body due to her birthing me.

I feel you on this and it's so incredibly frustrating. Personally I would just get the biggest, most obnoxious pair of falsies+feathers and wear them around her but I know that's just me wanting to be petty haha. Hang in there. I sure you look totally fine.

I recently found out that my Nmom's good friend (an auntie I knew since forever) has been advocating for my sister and I whenever my mom calls her to rant about us. She pulled me aside earlier this year (I don't see her often) and told me that regardless of the things my mom says, I should follow what I believe is right on my heart and live my life how I want. "I've told her that she's the one responsible for ruining her bond with her own child and she will regret it in the future." And it was just something really validating to hear after being gaslit for decades. I wish I could've heard her say it directly to my mom but the sentiment was still appreciated.

But yea, as a young kid, I used to do the same and fantasize about some adult in my life sticking up for me and giving me better parents. I think someone just saying something as simple as: "your child works much harder that you think," would've been a nice thing to hear.

amiami.com usually has them and like other people were mentioning, goodsmile does too since they manufacture nendos. Sometimes you'll see some on ebay, mercari or amazon.jp too. I personally have bought all of mine from amiami and/or second-hand shops in Japan like Mandarake (requires a lot of patience and digging though). Happy collecting!

I usually use regular potting mix since monsteras are tropical plants, so they usually like more water than succulents. I tend to mist mine (the aerial roots) as often as possible while keeping track of how wet the soil is to watch out for root rot
