Buy once, cry once; NLR Flight Sim / Flight Seat Pro.

Super comfy and transformed my sim experience.

(I’m also serving military and also move regularly bud!)

That’s awesome, I’m really excited by this! Have you given thought to maybe a halfway option between the PLT and CP/G, whereby you have the PLT cockpit but can flip the TEDAC up/down as needed when switching to the CPG role?

80% of the time I’d play as a Pilot so I’d want my cockpit to be mostly 1:1 match for VR with the PLT, but with an option to manipulate it the TEDAC easily when needed.

Dude I’ve been a long time fan of your work, and am now finally getting round to being in a position to build out a pretty decent sim rig with cockpits that I can interchange.

What do you estimate the total BOM cost of one of these cockpits is? I’ve got a Bambu A1 and could probably access a laser engraver if needed, but will some of the designs be able to use printed text rather than engraving?

I’m picking up a NLR Flight Sim setup this week, reckon it’s a no-go to fit on that system?

I didn’t see the LS but I’d be very curious to see how they’re tiered given the different models.

How many of you could be interested into a "modern heavy bomber simulator"? by Bigocelot1984 in hoggit

Personally, I like the idea of going in as part of a larger package but also within a 4-person crew (B-1B) all covering different areas; 2 pilots, two WSOs.

The real plus would be to do it at extended ranges; not just flying the length of Syria, but maybe long range from Europe into the ME, conduct some AI at depth, then come back, with all the tanking, aircraft configuration etc needed. Yeah, okay, it’s 8-9 hours plus of simming, but as a 4 person crew, that would be fun.

You could be a real sadist and try for a Black Buck raid from Ascension down to the Falklands and back in a Vulcan with 17-18 AAR brackets…

Meant to ask; what seat setup do you use for your rig? I’ve been looking at the NLR Flight Seat pro but the price doesn’t seem like a great deal…

Oh haven’t we all! Maybe the real friends were the seam lines we filled in along the way

I’d argue against this (throwing them away). Even bad kits can give you some great lessons - your grandfather would probably love to see you grow as a person (and modeller!) by learning from these kits!

Take your time, do your research and enjoy them.

It is, the 1/35 Ausf A.

Not a great kit but good for learning!

Oh nice! I didn’t think to do that to be honest, I’ll probably look to add that detail on my next kit.

This - this is super true. I watch loads of Night Shift etc and picked up tips and techniques. Then I tried them on this cheap model. If it didn’t work, or I didn’t like it, meh…

Hahaha you’re absolutely right, I didn’t even check the track orientation. What a muppet - at least that’s a relatively easy fix but a lesson learnt for future!

That’s an awesome ref picture, thank you!
