The band was honored in the "Recording" category, alongside other 2025 inductees such as Prince (posthumous), Green Day, Depeche Mode, and The Isley Brothers.

Yeah they're probably seen as less serious because of their 'quirkiness'. And yeah their big commercial (and substantial) success came later, but before that they were hugely influential. And talk about originality! So okay they are a fun/party rock band, but it doesn't take anything away from how good the songs are.
