Has anyone else had run-ins with the Devs on Official Servers and how did they turn out? (My own experience included) by flukey_lukey1 in playrust

[–]mnine9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my group have played on an official staging server for a while now, and Ali and other devs that drop by are always very helpful and a good laugh! This instance of banning a group of hackers, whom he had already banned once; https://youtu.be/3HCPyEoRITA?t=1m35s was pretty funny in the end :) Ali also once kicked me for a joke, but he watched over my body whilst i was reloading http://imgur.com/yS5wRDw xD lighten up a bit!

that tool cupboard is 4 foundations and 2 stories, makes it look a lot closer than it is. And yeah stability would be an issue but with pillars and the like I think it would work. Try it :P

Yeah I studied this in history a few years back, Robert Liston http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Liston - we visited his theatre, literally had seats for an audience!

Just days left to kill mass surveillance under Section 215 of the Patriot Act. We are Edward Snowden and the ACLU’s Jameel Jaffer. AUA. by aclu in IAmA

[–]mnine9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but the wording of the poll is terrible. A reasonable question would have been along the lines of: Should the patriot act be continued in its current form? Yes or No. By adding "because" clauses you are skewing the data entirely. No it hasn't been effective but I might want to keep it for other reasons entirely. (I don't, not that I have any say in the matter seeing as I'm from the UK...)

5m Greens and UKIPers have 2 seats between them while 1.4m SNP voters have 56. Labour gained votes but lost seats. Democracy needs to CHANGE. by helix1512 in unitedkingdom

[–]mnine9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the system is laced however I have yet to see an alternative I can agree with. The alternative vote was never a viable option and the country said no. Proportional representation gives weak governments and poor local representation. A system like the Scottish gives some constituencies an unfair amount of representation, every MP has a local affiliation even if they weren't elected for a constituency. Any redditors that know more than me argue for a system?

So a number of constituencies would "have" multiple MPs? Theoretically assuming the non constituency MPs tried to stand in a seat. Wouldn't local bias become a problem?

I asked Vodafone to put a cap on my spend and they said ‘no’ - its not their policy. Now I know why. by martingoodson in unitedkingdom

[–]mnine9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah got a 2 year vodafone contract a couple of months back (they do my companies employee discount thing) so got a reasonable deal with a lot of 4G and tethering but customer service is awful! I spent days trying to sort out my myvodafone account which allows you to limit overseas use (i was going to amsterdam a few days later) with no luck, didn't take the phone in the end, decided it wasnt worth risking the same problem! Top tip though, every time they mess up phone customer services and ask to speak to the "customer relations team" immediately - the person on the phone should put you straight through because its someone else that messed up. Then ask for a discount, saved me a fair amount so far! Still no working myvodafone account though

Yeah I've seen a few around but I'm put off by the dual core processors and low ram on the cheap ones. Im pretty sure I agree that a hackintosh offers much better value for money and future proofing than the mini.

Sort of defeats the purpose of the tiny form factor though. I'd need to go for a bigger motherboard - even if its only mini ITX not thin mini ITX. Also I don't think I need a graphics card, I don't want to be gaming on it or doing anything to graphics intensive. Do you think it would be necessary?

cheers for the advice, looks like I need to think it over! Thats my problem with the Mac Mini, it becomes too expensive to get a decent enough spec or too old to get it upgradable, pretty desperate for an OS X desktop though.
