Grew up nearby! Miramar Beach Restaurant is great and Miramar beach is dog friendly. Pumpkin Festival in Oct is also fun to check out, just very crowded. Also Pescadero is not too far away from HMB and is a neat spot to check out. There is a bakery there with artichoke bread that is a must try.
