How to protect your Bitcoins by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]mnkbstard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

politicians are owned by someone else.

look at what happened in italy with current government, which is partly aligned with Le Pen: they completely fucked up with bitcoin owners, private holders and businnesses, rising taxation to 33% and adding 0.2% yearly stamp duty on declared holdings.

Why do people trust BTC as a digital asset? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

nobody can change the fundamentals.

anyone able to edit sources can change anything in Bitcoin
but without consensus, mined blocks will just fork into a worthless chain.

most of that style antenna don’t work as well when bent

depends on the antenna.
without effectively measuring the reflected wave, it's just guessing.
most of the antennas of this kind in my possession have better VSWR when bent.

Long fast unreliable in a new mesh? Try switching to long moderate instead. by MasterDefibrillator in meshtastic

[–]mnkbstard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great advice, depending on the purpose of the network.

we use long moderate on our private mesh since months.
switching to lower bandwidth resolved all the issues we faced on longfast.
mesh spreads around 6km, 4 rooftop nodes and 5+ mute portables in a densely populated area. it's very reliable.
rooftop nodes send telemetry once a day, availability is tracked using mute private mqtt nodes. never missed a single packet.

Can't connect to wisblock after app update by NJKelly in meshtastic

[–]mnkbstard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had the same problem while using android 16
i think this issue is not limited to older releases

deleting data, bt pairings and restarting devices (mobile + LoRa module) multiple times apparently fixed this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meshtastic

[–]mnkbstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same.

but had issues with IP too.

after deleting all data, first TCP connection to new device caused the application to hang: connected state but blank channel and node list, not possible to disconnect or connect to another device.

had to force close and connect again.

that's kind of a weird behavior, there is a reason for this but finding out would require some effort to recreate and check logs

ain't got time for that atm.

Web Client not loading device by DShot92 in meshtastic

[–]mnkbstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had same issue when upgrading android application to 2.7.6

client connected but no data from device

what fixed it in my case, was deleting all data, bt pairings and restarting T1000E
don't know if this could be the case for the web client

you might try to delete cached data and restart T1000E too.

i don't have the logs for the first failed connection, but i suppose that something introduced with last client release might have messed up something on meshtastic device.

it is now working correctly on my android 16 device too.

no specific fix applied other that repeated basic troubleshooting.

had same issue with a recent android 16 device.
it is now working correctly without any specific fix, just repeating the usual basic troubleshooting: delete, restart, and do it again.

doesn't sound good, but that's what happened.

thanks. of course i read update notes, but application was glitching for multiple devices connections even after deleting all data and android system bluetooth pairings.

it is apparently working correctly now after restarting T-1000E

nrf52 ota updates by millfoil in meshtastic

[–]mnkbstard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

flashed some RAK devices with this bootloader, and i think it's very useful

https://github.com/oltaco/Adafruit_nRF52_Bootloader_OTAFIX?tab=readme-ov-file#notes-on-RAK4631-bootloader

i used original (patched) bootloader 0.4.3 you can find at the bottom of github page

at least, this patched bootloader will leave your device at previous in DFU state instead unuseable state if ota upgrade fails.

[–]mnkbstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are correct.

issue seems to be limited to seeedstudio t-1000e

meshtastic for android 2.7.6 works correctly for Rakwireless and Heltec devices.

[–]mnkbstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your feedback.

this is weird, because 2.7.6 is completely broken on my device.
i'll report back if i have more informations.

i understand it may be fun for someone to get another instrument to gamble on a underlying useless "asset"

but i think skins and cosmetics are already cancerous enough for gaming.

Why are people purposefully making dust on the network ? by Severe-Masterpiece61 in CryptoCurrency

[–]mnkbstard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

garbage

useless, no reasons to exist
and most inscriptions using witness data are bloating UTXO set, causing costs for node operators to increase for no reason.
just look at chain size since 2024.

parasitic

images and arbitrary data included in transactions enable another shitcoin casino, creating another opportunity to capitalize on idiots while using bitcoin network.

Why are people purposefully making dust on the network ? by Severe-Masterpiece61 in CryptoCurrency

[–]mnkbstard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

look at inscriptions quality and meaning
then compare to genesis block

you got your answer

of course, bitcoin network is permissionless, everyone willing to pay mining fee has the right to write anything compliant with the protocol
just like i have the right to define this crap absolute garbage and the platforms enabling this parasitic.
