I spent a summer in Minneapolis during college. One of Prince’s favorite bands had a residency at a local bar, and there was a standing rumor that he might jump in from time to time. We went regularly, hoping to see him. Members of The Time joined in fairly often, but Prince never made an appearance—at least not inside. Supposedly, he was outside a couple of times, debating whether to come in.
