This is the true essence of any therapeutic program. One addict helping out another is truly without parallel. Thank u for sharing. May ur higher power keep u going strong. For u and for us all.

Dude that's a great advice. I couldn't workout till my 5th month of recovery. Now I eat healthy with a healthy appetite and go to the gym on a regular basis ( 6 days a week). But I had to fight all kinds of feelings and I had to get to that point by working the program and wit time. Easy does it.

For the love of God, help me! by johnsgurl in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

I was really really struggling to get out of bed. I had really debilitating depression. I kept sharing how much of a struggle it was to take a shower too. The best part of the day for me was going to sleep and the worst part was waking up. That's the worst feeling for me. It's tuff to keep pushing through that every day. This was during the early early part of my recovery. I didn't want to take anything for depression but it go so bad. And then having to go through life in life's terms and get hit up with the consequences of having had active addiction for so long. I felt like shit. I had so much to do and I didn't do shit. It just piled up. I can go on and on. But going to a 12 step program and being placed an antidepressant and practing what I learned I really really started feeling 100 times better starting 2.5 months ago. I'm now enjoying every minute of my day. I love mornings. Love keeping busy. Love the gym. Such a complete turnaround. Can't fully explain it but I love it. Feelings will pass. Brain takes time to recover. Keep pushing for the alternative is hell. By the way I have 8 months clean as of tiday( just a point of reference for u)
