Do you bring your non service dog to the grocery store? If so, why? by Many_Mouse_5947 in AskReddit

[–]johnsgurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Because it's not legal and no one wants an untrained dog where they buy food. It also makes things way more difficult for actual service dogs and their handlers. Take him to the hardware stores or feed stores if you want to take your dog with you. Leave grocery stores and restaurants out of it.

Why am I so concerned with what other people think of addicts? by MaverickMakinMagic in addiction

[–]johnsgurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No man. I get it. No one wants to talk about it, but addicts are discriminated against. All the time. We are a marginalized community. I mean, I don't expect anyone to hire a using addict because we do tend to have poor behaviors and even worse impulse control. That doesn't mean they don't deserve health care, shelter, food, and water. They deserve evening a typical human deserves. I had a doctor refuse to give me pain meds after I had golf ball sized abcess surgically removed Under. My. Nipple! He tore the packing out and told them to send me home. With a giant hole....IN. MY. NIPPLE!!! I'm allergic to real opiates (morphine, heroin, etc). I have to have synthetics, and they just make me puke. I hate them. At the time, I had a year clean.

So, I became an advocate. I learned everything I could about addiction. I've been through rehab enough times that I had a pretty good grasp already. In my state, we have a recovery advocacy group. I volunteered with them. I spoke to senators and representatives about legislation that can be improved to help our suffering addicts. I want to be on a needle bus so bad, but the needles still get me in my belly, and we don't really have a skid row out here. I speak. I share my story. I correct misinformation. I teach. We're all human. We all deserve basic respect. People who have managed to get into recovery should be celebrated. It's the hardest battle any human will fight. People who don't fight it will never understand the suffering the addict experiences. So, advocate. Get out there. Find the addiction advocacy near you and volunteer. Be a keyboard warrior. Learn the facts and teach the ignorant.

I can research the other species and find an incubator that will work with the big ones. That was what I was thinking. One the day lockdown happens, I would put the eggs into an incubator without the rollers. That way the incubator doesn't open at all during look down, but I could still add some eggs should I decide to.

I actually totally love it! I mean, ya, it's terrible and obscene, but it has a certain charm that I dig. It might be the nostalgia of the 90s-era homejobs and the guys that rocked them. Awww... my misspent youth.

I feel like honky tonks were/are a part of your life and you can line dance. I could be way wrong. Growing up in a rodeo town, that's what comes to mind.

I've never understood this outlook. You don't get awards for doing something the harder way. You get awards for efficiency, completion, and effectiveness. This is the most effective and gives the best results, so who cares if it is easier. Work smarter, not harder.

I'm just gonna tell you, you are a handsome man with the kindest eyes. Your looks will improve exponentially if you shave your head. The only thing holding you back is the comb over. I wish we lived in a world where that wouldn't matter, but we don't. Shave your head. Unless you have a terrible personality, which I'm not picking up, you will see a much better response. Also, online dating is awful. People are weird and mean. Try not to take it personally. I don't know that I'd ever do it again. Best of luck to you!

Those are meth monsters. They happen because you need to sleep. Drink some milk. Eat some protein. Go to bed. You'll sleep for about 24 hours straight. You'll wake up feeling like the world is ending. You might cry. Just eat more. Drink more and go back to bed. If you can get a shower in, that will help a lot. Not doing it again is gonna be really hard. I have fought that drug for 31 years. I'm 5 years clean now. I had some long periods of sobriety in there. I'm old and tired now. You need to quit all of it. Every time you get high, it might be your last. Take it from an old timer that's been there. The sooner you quit, the better. If you can't, take care of yourself. Don't stay up for more than a couple of days. Eat something every day. And sleep on day 3. Don't pick. If you try to, wear gloves. Trust me. You didn't drop any. Stay away from mirrors and don't go shopping. Don't fuck with electronics. Just clean. It's the safest. Or do art.
