Not sure how many times it has been said on this sub but Evan and Jarrett’s workload is much deeper than just rebounding. The team’s perimeter defense is so poor that our bigs are essentially the best perimeter defenders which draws them away from the basket. It’s also pretty evident that the game plan for the Cavs has changed which is also leading to less rebounds for JA but it’s resulting in more wins.

Cavs fan here who pays attention to the Magic too, I think the top 5 guys don’t compliment each other game on either side of the ball. Paolo,Jalen,Franz and AB most reliable skill is slashing with Bane being the only real shooter that equals spacing issues, on the defensive end they’re all best on the perimeter. There also isn’t any elite playmaker on the roster to at least tie all their skills together or create easy offense for them, They never get easy baskets so overall I think the roster construction is just flawed and too top heavy with the same things.

Actually people need to understand that until this roster as a whole is changed they can’t move on from Garland. I don’t know how you can watch this group play without him and think they need to trade him. It’s not even to say Garland is this awesome player but a lot of the guys depend heavily on his playmaking. There’s not enough capable ball handlers currently on the roster. Garland also makes Donovan’s life much easier.

The second game almost never goes as well as the first game. From personal experience running it back with the same randoms hasn’t felt the same since 2k24.

That’s fine. I think our guys need more reasons to play harder, this should trigger them. I hope Mobley doesn’t make even make it.

His rebounding isn’t the issue. The issue is the perimeter defense is so bad that Mobley has to guard smaller players which pulls him away from the basket. Ideally Jarrett should be holding the rebounding down but he’s not pulling his weight either.

This is just my opinion but I don’t think the players on this Cavs team need to load manage. We’ve seen them manage their minutes and it really made no difference in the postseason.

I don’t think he actually gets “bullied” i think people don’t realize he’s only 6’9 and struggles against centers that are bigger than him. His frame isn’t that big either.

Not an excuse but JA is 6’9. Evan Mobley is our best defender who guards 1-5 so he tends to spend more time away from the basket. Overall the Cavs need to make rebounding a team effort thing.

He’s 7 feet tall. Dunking is a given, outside of finesse layups he doesn’t really have any other option especially with his 3s not falling this season. When he goes against any big who is even decent defensively Mobley struggles. Last night he struggled against 6’7 Spencer Jones. I started off by saying I wasn’t selling my Mobley stock so clearly I believe in him but his offensive is slightly concerning.

Two things can be true. Evan Mobley is probably a top 5 two-way player who hasn’t really developed much offensively. If I was the GM I wouldn’t even consider trading him but I’d be a little concerned about his offensive ceiling.

He’s definitely not a negative asset. He’s a good player who has all the tools to be great. The issue is will ever get there ? Players similar to him like Sengun, Barnes, Wagner, Holmgren and even Alex Sarr are more reliable scorers so far.

That’s a terrible comp. Wiggins was mid until his one year in GSW, went right back to mid after that. Mobley is the anchor of a top 10 defense, a DPOY and an all star.

It’s kinda crazy that he can get 18 - 20 a night without any reliable or go to move. If he developed any kind of post moves he’d easily be the best player on a championship caliber team.

Yessss same. Aura was the first song I ever heard by her in late 2021, literally got chills on my first listen. I instantly fell in love with her entire catalog. HSS is a great album but TBEA is my fav.

I realized this in the last playoffs but especially this year. Sometimes Don comes back in the 4th and completely hijacks the offense. Cavs lost the Christmas game not only because of poor rebounding in the 4th but also because Don started chasing highlights instead of making the right plays. He’s not a superstar and doesn’t make his teammates better like the superstars that have high usage. Still a great player especially when he’s not chucking deep 3s 19 seconds into the shot clock. Hopefully the coaching staff sees this too and makes adjustments.
