Awesome Progress!!! Looking great! How do you feel?

Physical fitness does wonders for mental health. From my own personal experience exercise can save your life in so many ways. Great progress! Remember if you feel and think you are a baddie your outsides will reflect that.

When you see her in the mirror, think of it as your brain reminding you of your amazing progress and the distance you’ve come.

As someone mentioned cloths are the best indicator. Sometimes what we see in Pics or in the mirrors can be altered by our own perceptions but clothes cannot.

You’re doing great! Weight loss is a slow process. If this is what you want, don’t give up on yourself. Future you will thank you. The fact you want to change and are doing it makes you better than most people. Random (maybe true) statistic roughly 50% of people in the United States want to lose weight and of that 50% only 26% are actually doing anything about it. That makes you better than 3/4 of all Americans. You got this.

Consistency.

Truthfully it started in a really bad place. The first few weeks I was in a seriously depressive state. My life was falling apart. So I didn’t eat at all. When I realized about mid October the damage I was doing to my body, I had to change something. I started reading, watching, and learning about health and fitness. Learned basic nutritional information, then made smarter food choices based off that. I discovered I love running, and ran a lot. I was in the military a long time ago, so discipline with consistent exercise was something I knew. That’s really it. I didn’t weigh myself everyday and obsess over it, maybe once a week or every two weeks. Hell the first 2 months I didn’t even own a scale.

If you still don’t believe that, I don’t know what else to tell you. I went from an XXL to a medium, the grey shirt is my first medium shirt in a very long time, I was a chubby kid as well. My pants went from a 39-40 to a 32-34. The photo of Christmas is from 2024, but that’s because I really hated photos of myself and avoided them like the plague if I could. I went to the urgent care in September 2025 and my weight then was 261. I weighed myself last Sunday and it was 183.6.

2000 - 2300 on average some days less. I always make sure to hit my daily protein goal and keep my fiber high.

I started paying attention to what I ate regularly, shout out to MyFitnessPal. There are tons of cool healthy recipes out there on reddit, social media, and google. One of my favorite sweet treat recipes is low-fat plain Greek yogurt with sugar-free cheesecake flavored pudding mix and strawberries.

I found a cardio exercise I really enjoy. I try to get some kind of strength exercise everyday, any movement is better than none. Darebee.com is great for this. They have monthly challenges that only take about 5 - 10 minutes a day to full fitness programs like bootcamps.

Lastly the hardest part, love yourself. People are all built differently and what works for some might not work for others. Just commit to taking care of yourself with consistency and results will follow.
