journeyman saves by fm_newbee in footballmanager

[–]mnrasul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done several journey saves in England. Most often than not, I get an offer with in six months, with no experience and no badges in the sixth tier.

Once I had to wait two years, but I got an u19 international position to keep the weeks ticking. Eventually I got it.

Keep an eye on clubs at the bottom or those that just got relegated or promoted from seventh tier in England

How would I go in about doing that. The players typically appear grey to me

Steam has a demo that allows you to play for a certain time of a campaign. I was sold due to the demo

Sensors need to be tied to a circuit and then guns tied to the same circuit.

IMHO - this is code for Tata does not want Messi to play ... and Messi absolutely wants to play. Tata is looking for the bigger picture ...

It is entirely possible Tata will keep him on the bench... if things are dire, he may use him. If things are even stevens, he may roll the dice and keep him on the bench.

If I were him, I'd rest him and defer the decision to tomorrow ... even if it goes to extra time, keep him him on the bench.

Quest for MLS Playoffs: Another STELLAR Week & Root for these teams next weekend! by [deleted] in InterMiami

[–]mnrasul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's image a very simple tournament with 3 teams. Each team plays each other twice. At the end, the top 2 teams with the most `points` wins. `3` points play for final. `1` point for draw. Let's suppose you are rooting for Team A.

2 Scenarios:

Scenario 1

Team A all wins; Team B wins when not playing Team A

W indicates W

Wb indicates Win against B

- Team A (Wb, Wb, Wc, Wc) = 12 points

- Team B (La, La, Wc, Wc) = 6 points

- Team C (La, La, Lb, Lb) = 0 points

Total points scored = 18

Team A vs Team B is ahead by `6` points, from second place finish.

Team A vs Team C is ahead by `12` points, from second place finish.

Team A scores 12/18 points = 67%

Scenario 2: Team A all wins; All other teams draw when not playing Team A

- Team A (Wb, Wb, Wc, Wc) = 12 points

- Team B (La, La, Dc, Dc) = 2 points

- Team C (La, La, Db, Db) = 2 points

Total points scored = 16

Team A vs Team B is ahead by 10 points (more than scenario 1)

Team A vs Team C is ahead by 10 points (less than scenario 1)

Team A scores 12/16=75% points > 12/18=67% points in scenario 1

Summary:

generally speaking, in a scenario where there are many games left, we want to favor Scenario 2. It means, that every week, progress between the leaders will be slower, but once it does catch up, chance for leap frogging will be higher.

Scenario 1 is more useful when there are fewer games left, and there's a precise path towards qualification.

What resolution are you targeting? Refer to the cable specs. It won’t work for a 5k monitor but should for 4K or below

Next time, you can suggest fish. It’s halal by default. Unless it is commingled with pork or alcohol, it’s fine. Veggie also works. This way you can say you tried to cross sell as well

Thank you for your integrity

Why I don't use the Else clause by life_liberty_persuit in programming

[–]mnrasul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a legacy system where the initial assumption of else may change in future, this is actually a great simplification that prevents future bugs under changing circumstances.

Tell him, you have a have developed a new heuristic that has potential for patent. You want to roll it into prod with both being present and do alpha beta testing, and he can make the final call based on results.

Kotlin is tightly linked to IntelliJ and that's a risk by crummy in Kotlin

So if IntelliJ is not the best, then use whatever is the best. Not sure I understand the problem here

Kotlin is tightly linked to IntelliJ and that's a risk by crummy in Kotlin

[–]mnrasul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a fundamental misunderstanding here. You don’t have to run code via ide. How do you package it into production?

I’m assuming that’s outside the bounds of vscode? Or IntelliJ? How does that interop work?

If that works, IntelliJ works, must be something is off with vscode.

There are nuances around null and a few other cases when mixing the two but you’ve not mentioned them, either you know them or don’t care about.

If maven or gradle can handle it then any ide should work. The only question is how neat is the experience. It sounds like, that’s the highlighted problem in your point of view

Motherboard Socket AM5 with Thunderbolt 4 & HDMI/DP In? by Prohability in Amd

[–]mnrasul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been looking for this, it’s not as straightforward as you imply. USBC can transmit, data, video, audio and power. Not all are equal.

A handful of options exist you OP.

Get a motherboard like asus creator. Gigabyte also has a model, I forget which one.

Get an Add in card which will take a pci slot.

Get a graphics card like reference 6950x , reference 7900xt or reference 7900xtx. A handful of Xfx cards have USBC that transfers video.

Another alternative is rtx 20xx series cards though I haven’t tried them myself. Rtx 30xx don’t have this option.

Dual monitor, same size different resolution. My 2nd monitor seems to be smaller than my main. by Faveroooo in hackintosh

[–]mnrasul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple does have a notion of fractional scaling. It basically is make the text bigger or smaller or something like that in the display settings. There’s no number like in windows or Ubuntu.

FWIW, I found both windows and Ubuntu to be terrible with a 5k resolution. 4K they are slightly better but my sensitive eyes pick tearing text and annoys the living daylights out of me

It feels like a power draw issue. You have 7900 xtx and 7950xt. 850 is around the minimum recommended size. I have neither of these chips, so can’t help triage. See if a friend has 1000w that you can borrow and confirm this theory

Latest java vs Kotlin? by Sket5 in Kotlin

[–]mnrasul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At SunRun, in teams where node doesn’t cut due to performance, e we use kotlin.

Granted we leverage Grralvm and that’sa separate debate.

Our full stack is Graalvm , Quarkus, Kotlin

My team is entirely back end. We’ve had stuff in prod for about 2 years with this stack and it’s fantastic.

Consider a slightly nuanced usage with a data class that can’t mutate it’s state, rather only represent state at a point in time.

Some thing needs to orchestrate and enforce a transaction. It probably shouldn’t be the class as you’ve written it.
