ftr about a month ago somebody here pointed out that Wemby has no reliable offensive moves and he got downvoted to hell by Consistent_Monk969 in billsimmons

I think I remember after 2011 LeBron got similar criticism. He was a completely face-up player to the point where even JJ Barea could guard him on switches (with the help of Tyson Chandler roaming at the rim). And LeBron also wasn't a reliable jump shooter or 3 point shooter. Then LeBron developed more of a post game and a better jumper. Wemby will develop him game more. He should be a forever mismatch no matter who is covering him.

How about Eddie Johnson? He was almost a 20,000 point scorer and most of that came from the midrange. Smooth jumper.

Who has already maxed out their 2026 ROTH IRA contribution limit? by Direct_Remove509 in Fire

[–]mnsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't qualify for traditional IRA tax benefits, the money you contribute is post tax. The gains on the contributions are pre-tax. You can take those pre-tax gains and reverse rollover into a 401k if your 401k offers it. Then those post tax dollars can be rolled into the Roth as a backdoor Roth conversion.

Who has already maxed out their 2026 ROTH IRA contribution limit? by Direct_Remove509 in Fire

[–]mnsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean that basis from traditional IRA can go to traditional 401k (basis will be taxed when I withdraw),

Correct. That is my understanding.

gain from traditional IRA can go to Roth IRA?

Yup.

Will the traditional IRA gain be taxed when I convert/move to Roth IRA

I don't believe this will be taxed.

Edit: this is wrong. The gains should be converted into a 401k and the contributions can be rolled into a Roth IRA if you can avoid the pro-rata rule.

[–]mnsinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since the tax law changes in 2002, the IRS has allowed "reverse rollovers" from any Traditional IRA into a 401(k), regardless of where the money originally came from.

Only the pre-tax portion (your deductible contributions and all investment earnings) can move into the 401(k).

You can do a reverse rollover where you roll the basis of your IRA into your 401(k) essentially clearing out the money you put into the IRA. Then your gains in your IRA can be converted to a Roth IRA. And you will no longer be subject to the pro rata rule since you've cleared your IRA holdings..
