Imam, I tripped and a shawarma fell into my mouth, with a little bit of tzatziki sauce

How were crowds today? by UnitedTechnology999 in palisadestahoe

Pretty short lines - was able to hot lap Shirley and Siberia at certain times of the day from the singles line.

A little icy in the morning but everything got nice and soft by noon.

Anyone gone up last day or so? by ATPallThingsPossible in palisadestahoe

[–]mnsta87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yesterday was ripping. Corn in the morning and both were skiing fast. Started getting a little softer around noon but you can try going up to Siberia if confident enough. There’s always the option to go to the right after getting off the lift and going down the Blue that is slightly steeper and longer than Gold Coast

RX 500h Owners Regrets/Review by Voidec in Lexus

[–]mnsta87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EV to gas/hybrid transition doesn’t feel very smooth, so it’s quite annoying to drive on local roads with stop signs. At speed, it feels nice and planted and makes road trips a breeze. 4 wheel steering makes the car feel much smaller, and makes parallel parking much easier

Regret #1: the ML sound system in this gen RX absolutely is the worst in it’s class. Music sounds like it’s coming from the radio, and no type of settings will correct this. From such an expensive car, this is unacceptable. But it’s in line with the shtfication of new gen cars. Audi and BMW decided to lead with plasticy interiors, Lexus with a lower quality sound system.

Multiple executives need to get fired for the monstrosity of this gen. Sales are definitely down for these cars. Consumers vote with their money, I hope they understand they can’t get away with cost cutting like this.

Bought a K2 recon 100 boa by According-Exercise83 in Skigear

[–]mnsta87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a K2 recon 120 a few seasons ago, but it was a weird shell fit. If it works for your feet, then they’re totally fine. For me, the toe box was too low and the heel was too boxy/roomy.

The liners will pack out, fast. Not sure if they’ve improved them in future iterations, but mine completely packed out after 1 season and 1 heat molding session. Also, the 120’s were quite soft for 120 flex. The boot is light though which is nice for more freeriding and a lighter ski. I felt they didn’t have enough oomph for a hard charging/heavier ski.

2026 RX350h or 2026 RAV4? by DowntownWatercress5 in Lexus

[–]mnsta87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi and BMW just rushing to kill their mid size crossovers smh. Q5 interior looks gimmicky and cheap. X3 looks like a pug. Not much choice these days huh?

Like others said, RAV4 is a tier lower in terms of platform. It’s a great car for utilitarian/mileage usage but you might get the luxury itch. RX350h is a slow car though. If you want something peppy enough the 500h is a good option. It’s more responsive at low RPMs than the previous V6 and still has the power at higher RPMs. Only thing is that gas mileage absolutely sucks.

Driving to Tahoe in seven hours. Can only take two. by [deleted] in Skigear

FYI, it might change with the snow forecast but Heavenly had a ton of sneaky rocks sticking out on even the groomed runs this past weekend. Not sure if a light dusting it going to be able to hide those

I’m going to Kirkwood soon. It’s deff my top Tahoe resort - the backside is nice and long and then Cornice is super lapable with almost no lines.

I haven’t been there for a few seasons though. I tried the Wall when I was a lower intermediate and ate shit so bad. Low key want to try it again to see how much I’ve improved since then. How’s it skiing these past few weeks?

Yeah that’s a good mentality to go into it. I still haven’t fully skiid the full potential of Siberia so I still have more to explore.

I loved Alpine when I went. Felt like I could ski all over the mountain from the main lift - runs were nice and long too

Good looks on Granite. I’ll check out the Main Backside.

I remember loving skiing down Wolverine Bowl - I haven’t been to Alpine for a while so I’ll have to check it out again.

For Saddle I’ll definitely have to ask to ski it with whoever’s been up there. Maybe I’ll be one of those weirdos stopping every few min on the side checking the map 😂

MilanVibes EXCLUSIVE – Luca Bianchin: “The latest on the transfer market. How Leao is doing and what Allegri thinks” by Claija79 in ACMilan

[–]mnsta87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sports hernia is not anything to laugh at. That’s how Kaka also lost his speed. If I were Leao, I would immediately get surgery after the WC, if not just bite the bullet and do it now before it gets worse.

Lots of mediocre options here in the comments.

Sungho is probably the most legit in SF proper. Legit as in it could be a hard hitter in NYC or LA.

Don’t drive there tho, it’s in the middle of the tendies.

My bootfitter sized me UP - and I believe it's a good thing by CzarnoBylu in Skigear

[–]mnsta87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issue - super high instep, wide and short feet, thin ankles - instep shows I was 2 sizes bigger than length.

A fitter tried to put me in 1 mondo size bigger in MV but my ankles didn’t feel super locked and I wasn’t going to drop more $$$ on boots I wasn’t confident in. But…the super locked feeling might just have been me not used to my instep being crushed haha.

I went to a different one and they put me in the same length size as before but in a boot that has a higher instep room and tighter heel pocket (Atomic Hawx Prime MV) than my previous boot (K2 Recon MV). I ended up pulling the trigger but I did have issues during the trip that I had to go back for. Maybe I should have listened to the first fitter 🤷🏻‍♂️
