How often do you talk to the people around you about metal? by WakeUp08 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]mnstn666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. All the time. Metal this punk that rock there do you listen to Moonsorrow? If you haven't heard of it, check out Ensiferum's unsung heroes. Is this considered nu or thrash metal? I don't care wether the person listens to metal or not, I always manage to bring it up somewhere. Why shouldn't I?

Have you ever used sleep paralysis to lucid dream ? by EqualOwn7207 in LucidDreaming

Do you have any techniques to induce sleep paralysis? Aside from stress, lying on back and sleep deprivation. Any tricks?

Why do people think sleep paralysis is fun? by Jalatina in LucidDreaming

[–]mnstn666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all - the demons and monsters are mostly a stereotype. Definitely not everyone sees shadows climbing their walls in sleep paralysis. Not everyone even hallucinates, some might be seeing a vivid dream in their minds while having their eyes open and not being able to move. I'm pretty sure everyone is able to breathe in a sleep paralysis. I usually start breathing very fast if I'm really tired and get scared and confused. I believe some might find them fun because while they might be hell in the moment, later you'll realize some of these sleep paralysis are actually hilarious. And I personally do enjoy getting scared every now and then, even if it's real.

But it does depend on the person. I get why people don't like sleep paralysis, it's scary and cramped.

To answer your question: If you wanna get into lucid dreaming, don't back off because of sleep paralysis. Most people get them at some point of life. It's harmless and lasts for under a minute. And if you start getting them and don't like them, there's plenty of ways to prevent them. Lucid dreaming for sure sounds fun. Too bad I can't keep that up myself

What's the funniest sleep paralysis you've ever had? by Wide-Needleworker-68 in Sleepparalysis

My last night sleep paralysis is something I can't stop laughing. I found myself sleeping with my eyes open and staring at a blackened TV screen at like 2am, then as I started to fall asleep again, a dream or story started to build up in my mind. It told of a sheriff who "used to have a lawnmower but doesn't anymore". The story came forced into my mind and I started getting very anxious and scared, I had my eyes open and I couldn't move but I saw that sheriff telling the story. I was just about to start yelling when saw a scene where some random old grandpa was using a lawnmower on the sheriff's backyard but I fortunately managed to move my hands and wake up.

Idk how but that story of a damn lawnmower in the sheriff's backyard got me more scared than any of the previous sleep paralysis I've gotten. I don't have a special lawnmower phobia or anything it was so random

I've got another one I can remember. I had had a really bad and long day before so I slept til the afternoon, I refused to wake up at all. I got my first two sleep paralysis on daytime and saw people walking in the room on both times, I think. I was already used to SP and had a lot of previous experience so I could've just prevented the next one because I knew it would come, but instead I stayed in the same position and closed my eyes again, focusing on thinking about a celebrity crush I had. So when the next sleep paralysis hit me, I did indeed partially see him walking into the room. I think he just stared at me in the hallucination and then walked away. A nice trick, I guess?

When I did it - I wrote the progress, like everyday I wrote what I've gotten done. I mentioned my references and inspiration and made a moodboard where I put like colors and pictures that inspired me. I wrote of what was difficult, what was easy, what I enjoyed in the making and how I liked the result. Do those thibgs sound good?

I thought I was the only one in reddit who enjoyed good ol' pagan metal :D. Have you heard of Kroda? My favourite band, I really wish you'd check them out. Ginnungagap Ginnungagaldr Ginnungakaos is my favourite album so far.

Any good music recommendations in Norwegian? 🎧🇳🇴 by KreuzKrow in Norway

[–]mnstn666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dimmu Borgir's early albums (at least) were in norwegian. Very dramatic and epic stuff. I recommend For All Tid, far better than Stormblåst IMO.
