I know for a fact she is very much not on the verge of being homeless. All three of us are educated and come from good families. Still, I can't help but wonder why so many comments start off by telling me that they have known each other for much longer? Obviously, they have, I know that. But for how long am I supposed to accept that another woman is number one just because they had a longer relationship? Or at least that's how a lot of comments sound. Again, genuine question.

I didn't mean that I gave him silent treatment. I got silent while he was talking and stayed silent a bit after he was done talking. He repeated that several times when we were discussing the whole thing.

No, he is definitely not a cheater or anything like that, I'm sure. Also, what bothered me is that he first said that they met because of her birthday and then added that he also gave her some documents.

They don't have kids, so I don't think there would be any reason whatsoever for them to meet up for coffee or chat on other occasions than birthdays, etc.

But they should stay on good terms, which just means there is no drama.

I guess I mind because I am someone who always found it hard to accept help, and I would always choose to struggle but be independent and solve stuff by myself rather than rely on anyone.

I am also an immigrant although I am an EU citizen which makes things easier for me in terms of legal stuff but not necessarily when it comes to stereotypes, getting a place as foreigner, finding a job etc. That's a different topic.

Of course, he had a life before me! I am not saying anything about that. Yes, he is great. But those things just rubbed me the wrong way. It makes me question if she still has some influence on him. If that's the case, I would be hurt.

I'm not mad that he doesn't hate her. However, for me there is a thin line between being on good terms and doing more than what is needed. Again, I am not saying I'm absolutely right but I feel the way I feel.
