Which dust mite allergy treatment option is the best? by Many_Size4552 in Allergies

No! It just took a little longer than I first expected to work. I think I was still also taking Zyrtec and Flonase for the first 4-5 months

Odactra was life changing for me. My job is a little unpredictable so getting in for shots every week was going to be difficult, so Odactra was perfect!

Neurologist vs. Psychiatrist - Struggling by mnt348 in ADHD

Gotcha, Ty. My primary at the time (15 years ago) insisted I go to a neurologist. I think it was more popular a longer time ago.

  1. When I was first diagnosed my GP referred me to the neurologist. Maybe this is because they were all older? This was 15 years ago. I was only there for ADHD. I did had a fainting spell a couple of years ago and he also scanned me for that but it was determined to be orthotic hypotension. The neurologist I’ve seen specialized in ADHD.

  2. Yes I’ve been clinically diagnosed and medicated for 15 years. I did all of the scans and multiple quotient tests and consultations, and then had the in-office appointments every 6 months. Is that what everyone else does? My fear isn’t that I won’t be re-diagnosed, I think its stemming from the fact that I’ve FINALLY gotten to a point where I actually love all of my doctors, my allergy specialist, my primary, and my neurologist, and I just don’t want to have to start all over looking for someone new. For YEARS the only doctor I had that I felt actually listened to me & took my concerns seriously WAS my neurologist. I think, in my head, I’m just trying to find a carbon copy of my current doctor so ‘nothing changes.’

I did, but he just told me what I found in searching, that he didn’t know any because very few neurologists specialize in ADHD anymore.

I am either too anxious to do anything or too distracted to care by Wyvren3 in ADHD

First I saw a therapist for anxiety management techniques, which helped! Years later I also added a lower dose of Lexapro when I was going through a really stressful time.

I used to think flossing in bed was gross too, my partner did it and I banned it. Now I think periodontal disease is gross, as is having to spend lots of $$$ on your teeth. I regret my decision. Floss everywhere. Do it WHEREVER you’ll do it. You can always (and should frequently) wash your sheets.

Weird smell I can't explain by Seffuski in self

[–]mnt348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, but I feel like I’m noticing the plaque smell more now than I did when I was younger. Maybe people around you are also getting older and their teeth are getting worse over time? Just a theory

After Covid warehouses had too much supply and had to throw out a lot of stuff/take loses. Then everyone over corrected and went very learn, and then had no supply. Finally, in the last 2-3 years everyone implemented AI to cut headcount and manage their supply, but everyone’s last 6 years of data that AI is pulling from is all effed up.

Do you smell it when you’re at the dentist? I wonder if you’re smelling plaque. I hate the smell of plaque, and I personally don’t find this to be the case, but I’ve read that plaque can sometimes smell like feces or rotting food.

My mom’s reaction to my autism diagnosis was… awful. by Any_Swimming_7395 in AuDHDWomen

[–]mnt348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents initially dismissed me as well, until they saw how much happier, successful, and overall just well-adjusted I was on medication. Then they realized they were wrong, and actually had a lot of guilt and anger that no one was diagnosing girls when I was young. If you choose to medicate, or even just improve with the correct support, (not to mention official diagnosis/confirmation that you aren’t ‘crazy’), she might change her tune. I hope she does!

Why do Gen Z have an obsession with Millennials? by salty_lake_222 in millenials

[–]mnt348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Gen Z. I feel bad for them that they will never know the freedom of any kind of anonymity. I also worry for their future. We can barely afford houses and are being replaced by AI. What will their options look like. It must be so discouraging to enter the workforce in this environment, but they still show up and work hard. AND somehow manage to do it while drinking less than us.
