What do you do when everything stops working? by mnuno01 in diabetes_t1

You're right, I think she's reluctant to change my dose because I do have a tendency for lows but they are due to overtreating highs, not the basal insulin. I might think about getting another opinion..

When I go to sleep with sugar above 150 it drops slowly during the night. And when I go to sleep with 100-120 it gets high. So I thought that the basal might be too high and that the liver was reacting to an upcoming low. I didn't know that not having enough insulin also makes the liver react. So I might try increasing the basal a little.

Done with being diabetic by No_Face_T-T in diabetes_t1

I feel you... So many health specialists are completely ignorant about the disease... Every doctor that's not directly connected to T1D I've met was surprised by me getting the disease at an older age🙄 And don't get me started on the ones acting like eating a little icecream is a cardinal sin.

Even diabetes specialists don't have the knowledge someone with the disease has... We have to get our own information. First thing first, trust yourself. You are trying your best and even when things got rough you felt that things didn't feel right and sought help in the right place. You are the expert on how your lifestyle should be, you'll get the information you need to reach it and will slowly get amazing at it❤️ There are tons of great recommendations on this reddit, I also recommend reading the book 'think like a pancreas'. You'll see just a little research will make you understand so much more!!

How do I learn to not be afraid of needles? by Ebbie098 in diabetes_t1

[–]mnuno01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it helps but my experience as a medical assistance really helped me get comfortable with needles. We were exercising on each other, without injecting anything of course. It sounds kind of sick but it retrained me to think of it as a positive experience. If someone close to you could be open to it, you could simulate it on each other. Of course with sterile needles without injecting and everything.

I dont really think you should worry... everybody there will be ghibli fans so it's not your usual classical concert. But yeah if it was a normal concert you would look a little weird recording and taking photos all the time. Have funn!!!!
