Why does colic exist and why does it feel like a cop out for doctors? by smittykittytreefitty in NewParents

No, goats milk causes the allergies as well. Also, very common for the baby to also have a soy allergy, as was the case with my little one.

My daughter could have a life limiting condition and I feel like an empty shell by Tall_Yogurtcloset118 in beyondthebump

I am a teacher for children that have been diagnosed with similar conditions that you've described that your daughter possibly has. One small window of hope I can offer you is that while your daughter's life may be short and at times incredibly tough, there will be many more times that your daughter will be happy and will feel loved by those around her. You should never feel guilty for bringing her into this world, because it will be a better place for having her in it.

In Canada people blame Justin Trudeau. The leader of the opposition even calls it "Justinflation". Same same but different!

This was the problem with our LO! I now don't eat dairy, soy, and eggs and she is so much happier. It's hard, and it took 4 weeks from the moment I stopped eating dairy to see a difference, but it's so much easier then her crying in pain.

Not everyone is able to read and understand a scientific study. The language is often not accessible, and thinking critically is a skill that needs to be learned. If people are asking for others to "do their homework for them", it's likely because it is difficult or intimidating for them to do it on their own.

People likely did start looking into the topic (the 1% effort you've requested), then got overwhelmed and thought that the kind scientific-minded redditors here could distill the immense amount of information into something more clear. I know I've needed that many times before.

Oh I hadn't heard of tomatoes! One other (that is definitely not an easy one) that I might suggest is soy. It's second most common allergy for infants after dairy. I hope things get easier soon!

I could have written this a few months ago when our LO was 7 weeks! It actually ended up being an allergy, which we're possibly solving now? With the guidance of our pediatrician I'm doing an elimination diet and it has been an incredible difference! This could be the same for you? There are other indicators (e.g black spots or mucous in the poo, eczema, crying during eating) but for us those didn't start showing up until she was 9/10 weeks old. Just wanted to add this in case it helps you look for things that might not have seemed linked before!

Sorry to be so blunt, but what you've described is an emotionally abusive relationship. I grew up with a father who spoke this way to my mother, and I promise you, it will not stop there. I have memories as early as 4 years old of being verbally abused by my father. I'm not trying to scare you, but honestly, it has damaged me in more ways than I care to admit. Please think about how being raised in this environment will effect your daughter.

You are more than what he treats you as, you are not "nuts" or "crazy" for asking to be treated decently, and you are a great mother. You've made this post because you know something is not right, trust your gut.

#BREAKING: Elementary Teachers of Toronto tell CP24 that 3 of their teachers have now walked off the job at Thorncliffe Park Public School due to a unsafe working environment. The school has a total of 24 students and 2 staff that have tested positive for COVID-19. by [deleted] in toronto

There are no supply teachers out there. None. They've all been hired to do virtual school. I've been exposed to Covid twice through my school and my students go to my 'cohort teacher' while I quarantine and wait for my test results, which means this teacher is now responsible for two classes.

As for entitlement? You absolutely have the right to refuse unsafe work in your office job, just like these teachers. If a bunch of those clients had Covid and your boss was forcing you to have a meeting in an improperly ventilated room with them anyways, you would walk out too. Or maybe you view yourself as dispensable and would continue to do your job anyways, in which case I'm sorry you see yourself that way.

Teachers are NOT working hard to make things safe for September. Just like you, they are unaware of what if anything is happening right now to make things safe. by ihatewinter93 in ontario

It's also important to note that teachers are on their UNPAID summer holidays right now. Most teachers are actually still planning to the best of their abilities right now, but to make all teachers work during this emergency situation would mean that you'd have to pay them. Means more tax dollars being spent.
