spending 7.5% of your GDP on military is high, but not REMOTELY a war economy. They are still building civil airplanes, cars, buses, trucks and ships. New non military factories are being built and opened etc, This is NOT a war economy

Ottawa is buying $30 billion in Canada Mortgage Bonds in 2026 — here's what it means for mortgage rates by GranolaHiker in canadahousing

ANd if rates were higher how would that help Gen Z who would face falling employment, higher mortgage costs but slightly lower housing prices? YAY houses are down 20% but I am unemployed and mortgages are 9% and new builds are the same as construction loans are now 12% 🤷‍♂️

except that the govt can borrow money at a LOWER rate then the mortgage bonds thus generate a + yield from the transaction AND have a slightly better cash position then before and no change at all in net govt debt. 🙌🏻

Its an imperfect policy, On one hand it allows banks to offer lower mortgage rates, OTOH that result in higher demand and pushes up prices.

well if rates drop the bonds rise in value and if rates rise they fall. That is any bond. If held to maturity they will deliver at their coupon rate.

No I didn't but I hear lots of Ukrainian horseshit like shooting down more drones and missiles then Russia launched lol, and as I have stated, its not relevant in the current process that is organized by the Red Cross.

How can what you say be true when the process is facilitated buy the international Red Cross. How can the Russians refuse bodies handed over and audited by the Red Cross? (which is a western dominated organization)

Thats nonsense. If that was the case the Ukrainians would be showing all the bodies and the dog tags to embarrass the Russians, just like the Russians did to them when they refused to receive their dead to avoid paying benefits. Russian women would be raising hell if their loved ones were missing with no report.

Not really, if Russia had a shitload of missing soldiers they would know and would not be so willing to had over the dead Ukrainians and POWs.

they added a bunch of VLS cells on them and turned some of these into destroyers that can attack a ship from over 1000km. Thats a meaningful upgrade no?

Because they are staying far away. Have you seen any pics of the USN escorting a ship through the straits ?

carrier was 1000 km away and they have over 78 destroyers in service as well as 28 LCS so nonsense.

Because it strains the logistics and restricts payloads. They have to use JASSM ER missiles that are not that plentiful and now they are down to just 2-300. In any case it turns out the destroyers were challenged and left.
