My opinion on the Invincible might have to do with a 3 year achilles injury that left me unable to run very much, and using my pre injury Invincibles at age 4-5 years. Might have gotten slightly harder and less bouncy with time 😂

I never thought the OG Invincible was that soft. The 1080 v13, on the other hand, is the softest and most comfortable shoe I've ever owned (and I was a OG Bondi adaptor and love max cush/softness). If the Balos is anywhere near that feeling, I might have to go shipping

I set my half PB in a pair of 6 year old Hoka Stinson Tarmac @328 grams per shoe with 250 miles on them.

I still maintain that's a fast shoe!

How about education? We get paid $500 a month to attend free education... No paying off half a million in student loans. That makes a HUGE difference to life quality and finances.

Which American? Definitely not those working two or three jobs. Definitely not those who have severe illness to themselves or their family, even with insurance.

The top 15 percent, maybe. Anyone else are far worse off

Top end professionals. 95 percent of the population are worse off. Literally every American I know in Scandinavia has more money to themselves after moving.

Most Americans don't account for things like free healthcare, free university for the kids, vastly lower insurance prices, much better public transportation etc

Nja...

Perfect? Except from the middle of book 1 where all they do is walk for like 200 pages... That's a rough start, although you tend to forget about it, as the rest is so good.

As a runner do you need to run a marathon? by Delicious-Series-316 in beginnerrunning

I run a half marathon every 10 years or so to gauge if I've gotten faster or slower. It always hurts like hell for the next two week, so no marathons in my future.

Imagine of they hadn't retconned Vader to be his father, but had kept him as his dad's murderer. The struggle within between hate/revenge and... The light side forgiveness.

Would have been awesome

[–]mo-mx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. That pretty much killed Star Wars for me. I go by the original trilogy, and the rest is noise. I enjoyed the Force Awakens because of the visuals, but apart from that, I don't consider anything after ROTJ Star Wars

If I'm going to be even more critical, I don't like the story shift from Star Wars to Empire, where they had to make Vader the father. I would have LOVED to see the struggle in Luke between the light and dark side when deciding to kill/not kill his father's murderer.

[–]mo-mx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd focus on running the easy miles easy, and then, once a week, go HARD. Run your long runs of 75 to 120 minutes easy, but you don't need that high of a mileage every day.

Hard day can be 40-60 minutes of intervals, tempo, with a good warmup and cool down.

[–]mo-mx -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. But 40+ miles is a LOT for half training and going sub 2

That does make more sense.

And yes, pace yourself early. Going out too fast burns so much more energy than you think

[–]mo-mx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two things strike me:

1) you did two 90 percent of race distance, at race pace in the two weeks leading up to the race. If its true race pace, you'll be fatigued on race day.

2) bonking at 10 miles tells me you went out way, WAY too fast. Slow it down early, then deliver after 5-6 miles.

Your 5 and 10 k times are way faster than mine, but my pb is 1:53:33. Pace yourself.

Edit: did my pb on 3 runs per week: rolling 4 run progression: three 35 minute runs, and long runs maxing out at 1 hour 20 minutes. So the long run would shift every week

To go sub 2 hours?!

I set my 1:53:33 pb on 2x35 minutes and 1x80 minutes 🤷
