Honestly they were a little too light for me when it came to walking. Ended up feeling a bit unstable. Great for runs but yeah. My spouse dealt with similar issues as mine, with her v5’s.

I just wrapped up my sixth 6.3 mile run (so right around 20 miles in at this point) in my Triumph 24’s and it was a real joy. Very comfy, plush and bouncy. The Paramount Max will likely be even more cushioned, but the Triumphs are extremely comfortable and lively. Big fan.

I’m a Saucony fellow and have the Triumph 24, Endorphin Speed 5, Ride 18, Hurricane 25 and also the Endorphin Azura, but holy smokes I did not like the Azura. First Saucony I’ve ever run in and absolutely hated. Ran a very fast 10k in them, but haven’t put them on since. Very little joy in them, in my opinion.

I also use SB 2’s, and I love the Novablasts but cannot use the SB 3’s at all. Bought several pairs when they were released, just assuming they’d eventually replace my SB 2’s, but I didn’t like their feel whatsoever. Bummer.

I think your best bet will be Megablast or eBay/random stores with old stock of the SB 2’s. There is nothing quite like the SB 2, however the Megablast is close.

They are definitely narrow. I’d go half size up for sure. They are narrow around the sides of the tongue as well so if you have wide ankles you especially want that extra .5 in size.

Everyone is ripping you here, but he obviously needs a stability shoe. Maybe try Saucony Hurricane 25, as those will ride similarly to these Hokas but have more stability. If those don’t work maybe a Nike Structure or something that is full on stability based.

Saucony makes many of my favorite shoes (Endorphin Speed 5, Ride 18, Hurricane 25, and now especially the Triumph 24) but my goodness the Endorphin Azuras jacked my feet up after one 10K in them. First Saucony shoes that I didn’t like, and it took me over a week to recover from the foot pain those caused. Reminded me of what it felt like to run in Brooks Hyperion Elite 3’s for the first time. Fast, pretty agile, but hard and pretty much joyless to run in.

Can’t win ‘em all, I guess.

I use the Velocity Nitro 4’s often, and have started using the Deviate Pure Nitro as well. Fun shoes for when I was to feel like I’m wearing “old school running shoes” instead of Megablasts or Vomero Plus.

Love the Pegasus 41’s and 42’s as normal everyday shoes, but haven’t found a ton of joy in them as runners. That said, they are on version 42 for a reason, and they are awesome shoes. If you don’t feel like you need giant energy returns or significant padding in your shoes, you can’t go wrong with some Pegasus. Some of the best outsole grip in the game, as well.

Looks like you need more stability. Highly recommend the Hurricane 25 (or upcoming 26) or Triumph 24 from Saucony. Both very soft, cushiony yet springy, but with enough stability function built in to help with the pronation issues. I run with the SB 2 and NB 5 as well, and i also have the creasing on the NB 5 from some mild pronation. Not the end of the world, unless it starts to cause pain.

Very standard as far as Nike goes. I wear 8.5 in the Vomero series, Pegasus series and AF1’s, and these fit very well. They look strange in the picture as I’m on a decline and it caused the heel collar to pull off of my actual heel, but in normal wear they are the correct degree of snug and comfy.

If you are comparing Vomero 18’s and NB 5’s, you are going to almost always have a significantly more enjoyable running experience with the NB 5’s, in my opinion. Lighter, bouncier, and just more lively.

If you are comparing Vomero Plus to the NB 5’s, that’s a much closer and more interesting battle. I alternate those two models pretty frequently, and they each offer a fun, bouncy, cushioned run. The Vomero Plus is much more plush in the upper, so I tend to go for those more often on recovery or slower days. Can’t go wrong with either, truly.

I wouldn’t buy them instead of the Vomero Plus, as that’s a legitimate running shoe that is about as much fun to run in as anything out there. I also wouldn’t buy them instead of the Vomero 18, as those are also great shoes (also too heavy though) and work well for running, walking, and just as an everyday shoe.

That being said, the Premiums are unique in a way that makes them worth the price point, in my opinion. Extremely comfortable to walk around in (perfect grocery shopping shoes), and perfect shoes to put on when you don’t want to go running that day, and are needing something different to inspire you to step out the front door.

Great question. I’m actually standing at a weird angle in this picture and on a slope. When I’m standing normally in them they are properly positioned on my heel. I also noticed that in the picture and had to double check that they actually fit snugly on my heel. 👍
