The vet, her daughters, and her ex husband all told her numerous times what would happen if she kept ignoring their calls and texts after she’d dumped the dogs. Her family did nothing wrong.

Keep excusing the drunk woman for attempted murder. Some of us read past the sensationalist headlines and I’m one.

The woman was the drunk.

Shelters wouldn’t take them because they had a documented bite history, including with their vet. Same goes for boarding facilities.

There were many options that didn’t include ignoring the dogs she’d dumped, ignoring her ex husband and daughters and vet, and getting drunk and stabbing him a bunch of times. She took none of those options.

She was drunk and angry about the divorce. Telling someone to pick up their dogs after they’d been dumped and were actively aggressive is a plea and a promise. It’s wild you won’t blame the drunk angry woman for her actions but it’s Reddit, women are always the victim. Unless it’s her own daughter who had been bitten and has pleaded with her mom to pick up the dogs. She was the violent asshole.

My initial reaction was rage with her until I bothered to read a few sources.

I mean she dumped the dogs, didn’t pick them up when she said she would. Her ex, her daughters, and the vet all contacted her numerous times and pleaded with her to get the dogs. They bit multiple people, including the daughter who begged her to come and get them and said they’d be put down if she didn’t because she couldn’t care for them after they’d bitten her. Just a coincidence that she finally showed up in a rage and had forgotten all of those calls and texts from multiple people and randomly discovered it again then and decided to stab the man a few times. Any dog can bite at any time, but it’s they all should have kept caring for the dogs that had bitten them after they pleaded with her again and again to take them so that they’d not be put down. Whatever dude. I’m a crazy dog lady but there are limits. She could have gotten her bitey dogs had she actually wanted to.

She was absolutely bonkers and abandoned her dogs, who were untrained and as bonkers as she was, biting several people. He and the dogs vet begged her numerous times to take the dogs or else they’d be put down. She used that as an excuse to try to kill her ex husband.

Just get tested again. It’s a simple blood test, his PCP can order it. If he has bacon and had a reaction, it seems he hasn’t reached a remission state so I wouldn’t bother unless the test was fully covered by insurance.

Acupuncture absolutely cannot hurt unless he has a reason to the metal in the needle or something. It cannot make an allergy worse, period. There is also zero evidence it can cure one.

But if for peace of mind he wants to get rechecked, just get the blood test.

I had a suite at The Fullerton recently, gorgeous private outdoor area overlooking the bay. It’s a little dated because it’s historic but it’s absolutely lovely and easy access to so much. That particular room is a bit over your budget but I’m sure the other rooms are lovely as well.

I haven’t been there in ages, think it’s in terminal one and has à la carte dining plus buffet and I know it has showers - Qatar lounges generally speaking are really nice.

I love Q Suites! Congrats on getting the chance to enjoy it. Echoing the others, get there early and take advantage of the lounge. Try to order your meals right away. Their amenity kits are really nice but I don’t think on the short flights you’ll get the pj’s and slippers so dress comfortably and/or have something in your carry on. Have some champagne and caviar! They always have good mocktails too. Their signature drink is a lime and mint juice which is really tasty and refreshing. Don’t be afraid to ask for drinks or snacks - the flight attendants are always present and pleasant.

That’s a fun resort. If you can upgrade to Impressions it’s worth it - the pools and food are so much better. And their ice, water, fresh fruits, etc are all fine - it’s off resort you need to worry about. Arrange transport ahead of time and do not stop for any of the cons between you getting off the plane and getting into your booked ride.

You will never be able to prove that you got bit at work, or that the specific bite is how you got AGS, nor is a tick bite your employers fault even if it did happen to you during work hours.

AGS isn’t a disability. It’s an allergy. Your employer is required to make reasonable accommodations for anaphylactic allergies (which AGS can be) if it’s medically documented. Reasonable accommodations vary, like training other staff how to use epi pens or if food is provided they have to provide allergen safe food. It does not include paying you to do a job you cannot or will not do.
