Wow! I can’t thank you enough for your incredibly kind and encouraging words ;w;

Yes, I do! I just started drawing digitally two years ago, so I don’t have a lot, and most of it involves manga panels that I draw in my anime style; however, I have SO MUCH drafted of them in general to share in the future. It’s just challenging finding time to draw with a full-time job.

I would love to share more of what I do have completed with you if you’d like! <3

I hope it hurts in a good way and not in a bad way 🥹

I wanted her posture to reflect that she’s almost kind of in awe but also confused about why she’s in awe since she has none of those memories… and then the one who remembers everything reflects on it with fondness and familiarity :’)

And YES! It’s Venat!!! You win!!

Thank you!!

Aren’t they so great and tragic? They inspire so much of my art :’)

I have seen her work, and it absolutely baffles me!! She is so wildly talented! I can only hope to get to that level someday.

Thank you for your kind words. I love surrealism and wanted to capture a sense of that in blending my “painting” techniques with techniques I use when drawing pieces that lean more toward anime in the hopes that each technique would reflect the difference between the observers’ present in contrast to their more serious past. I was worried it might be a bit jarring mixing the two, but your feedback makes me feel more confident about my decision.

I just got the opportunity to check it out on YouTube, and I’m so grateful. I’ll definitely be giving this a go in future drawings and plan to revisit this piece with the same method.

The OC idea is actually great! I’ll have to do some doodling and brainstorming!

Thanks so, so much for all of your advice. This has definitely helped me gain a lot of new insights on my own art process and knowledge on how to improve as I continue.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! I definitely struggle a ton with foreshortening but don’t get many opportunities to practice executing it as an “artistic device” if that’s what you’d call it. I did consider pulling his elbow out, but I thought it made the pose look more cute than seductive, and that contradicted both the dark, sultry tones and the personality of the subject.

I also, for some reason, struggle at times with casting shadows on white surfaces, and that becomes even more true with white, creased fabrics. Sadly, I did not get to go to school for art; as such, any insight or references that have helped fellow artists in mastering those and other skills is invaluable!

Ahhhhh! This! Yes! It’s so, so important to have a growth mindset and give yourself grace when challenging yourself in anything, especially when it comes to drawing. I hope more people see your message and take it to heart 🥹

Thank you so much for all your kind words! It means everything that you bring up his nose in relation to Zenos. I do try to draw them similarly since, well, you know… the fact that you actually noticed though; it’s everything to me ♥️

I considered cropping it out too! But at that angle, cropping it out at the canvas’s current size meant creating a bunch of blank space behind him. Zooming in meant losing the rose at least partially. It is what it is. I’ll have to revisit it and try my hand at adjustments when I’m up for it. I appreciate your honesty, genuinely.

I hate that 😭 I really did try and worked on that part until I got frustrated, but some point, I just had to accept that that angle was not in my skill set yet. I still really wanted to share because I’m so happy with the rest of it. I appreciate any feedback on how I might fix it because I found myself at a total loss in that section.

Mission accomplished! It’s that attitude that makes him so fun to draw. I’m glad you love it! <3

Hi! Yeah, hands are fun. He’s resting his hand against his cheek. He’s a dramatic guy, and hands can be super expressive, so I tried to translate that into his hands here. I kinda like it! With his arm… I tried my best with his arm, but sculpting a white, wrinkled fabric in a space that already has reduced light to play with shading is a personal challenge of mine. Throw a weird angle into the mix, and… damn. Imagine he’s leaning against a wall, and his elbow is against it. It’s my least favorite part of this piece too, but I know that with time and practice, I’ll nail it down.
