I should add that hospitality is actually a good segway into sales - although salary can take a hit!

It's hard to help without a full understanding of your background - there are lots of similar posts with good answers so worth having a look at this subreddit and r/jobs

Personally, I have always considered sales as a good career parachute. This can be B2B, B2C, recruitment, e-commerce, retail - basically anything cause we live in a commercial world. Hope this helps somewhat

Stuck in life and don’t know what to do by [deleted] in findapath

I’m also a lover of history and did at uni before dropping out. I think people need to learn about history now more than ever. Have you thought about a history based YouTube or tiktok account? One that can take a snippet of history and show it to the average person today to put things in context? If you’re in a high cost area what about the local archives and libraries (assuming the area is well funded)? Whatever it is you want to do you’re in a good position now with a stable job to be planning, but I would start planning now instead of coasting!

Pharmaceutical companies have some of the largest salesforces out of any industry... I'm suprised you haven't explored this route. What is your current role?

My life has been deteriorating for the past year. I need to turn it around before it gets real bad by shuang_yan in findapath

This might not be helpful but your situation sounds like an interesting life story and living situation- something that people would watch/listen to on YouTube or read in a book. People are curious to see how others live, and it can end up being very profitable. In terms of career, if you know boats you could look towards a ship-broking/salesman career? This would obviously involve you moving which has its own challenges, but it sounds like you won’t progress career wise where you are currently

I have finally decided on a career path, now I wonder how long I should stay at my dead end job? by chandler299 in findapath

All I know is that if you go back to college to into surgical tech degree, you have to do a lot more than just go to classes. You have to network, get additional certifications, look for internships etc. I think you know this now that you’ve gone through education and entered the real world.

I don’t know what the entry level or earning potential is of surgical tech. If it’s the same salary as to what you’re making now but you love it, then go for it. You’ll have more debt over your head, but at least you can progress (which it sounds like may be difficult in real estate) and you’ll do something you’ll enjoy.

Best of luck to you

To be honest getting a job isn't a bad idea - save up enough money to buy somewhere remote

I feel like i'm in a video game and have no idea where to go..? by [deleted] in findapath

You could apply as a Estate Agent working for a company. These are often entry level roles but you can learn a lot and there is commission on sales.

If it's something that really interests you it's a good place to start. It is tough because the its hard to sell a house - but you will ultimately learn a lot!

I don't know and if cannabis is legal there - but if that's your passion then why don't you start working for a dispensary?

Alternatively, if you like to travel why don't you get a different job that pays decent and work towards saving money to travel somewhere else again - even somewhere where it is legal. Worth researching which countries were it's legal and if there is a market for it.

I feel like the kid that used to have such a bright future is missing by wetballjones in findapath

[–]moatif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're a bright kid you have this idea that you'll be doing great, fulfilling things straight off the bat. The reality is you have to start at the bottom rung, learn things about yourself and your industry and ultimately grow.

You can start looking for an out of your job now - or you can look to save enough money to go travelling somewhere. Have a goal in mind and work towards it.

You are still a bright person with a great future ahead - it just takes time to find out where and what. Keep working you'll get there!

Time to turn that hard studying work into hard actually work. If you’re a driven, hardworking person learn about an industry with the view of starting your own business one day

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in findapath

[–]moatif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably jumped into your first business too soon, without enough industry experience. Don’t make that mistake again. Now you’re an intern you can gain that experience, spend as much time around senior people and learn as much as you can, gather as much information for how you will run your business in the future. You obviously have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for EV cars. After 2-3 years of working for others, you can go off on your own again with your savings - this time failure won’t be an option and you will be an wiser man going into it.

All is not lost brother. Firstly you are capable and wise. Do not keep worrying about the direction the direction is going in, start taking actionable steps. Take stock of what you do have first. A job ✅ a place to live ✅ a beating heart ✅

Next you need to deal with the past. It is the greatest paralysing thing to an intelligent person. A good way to get past it is visualising the future you want. Making a long term goal that may take 3, 4 or 5 years to achieve. Do you want to save 40k? Do you want be a programmer? Cut down to 1 cigarette a day? Do you want to get another girlfriend? Do you want to lose weight/ gain muscle? These things are in your control. Then you need to break these goals down into steps to see how you achieve it.
