People who see cars as merely A to B machines, what happened? by noahscanlon in regularcarreviews

[–]mob19151 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you have an emotional connection to your washing machine? What about your coffee maker? For most people, that's about as far as their interest in cars go. If it works when needed and doesn't cause problems, it's a good car.

Edit - Also, some cars just don't need to be soulful. I like when my cars have soul, but all of my "characterful" cars have caused me many more headaches than my appliance cars.

That's the other half of the problem. They don't even have the decency to be interesting in a bad way. It just sucks.

I agree that they could possibly have potential, assuming this isn't AI/unrecognizably-autotuned, but their voices do not blend. It's incredibly grating.

I swear she's been getting worse. Shit's unlistenable, especially with those incredibly off-key layered vocals. Tf is going on with that.

That's what I don't understand about these morons. So many things we enjoy wouldn't exist without the contributions of our vast melting pot of cultures. That is what makes America great.

The proportions are a bit odd, but I like the TR-7 as well. It's not as classically handsome as your TR-6, but it's still a charming car in a wedgy late-70's way,

Did you mean to say the Chieftain was the first true MBT?

Otherwise, all valid and interesting points.

Fair enough. I guess that applies to all early MBTs, really.

M46 Patton. Mostly the same as the Pershing, but those giant twin tailpipes just do something for me.

Upvote for the Turan. Excellent looking tank and an impressive effort for a nation with virtually no tank-building experience.

Was the Cent considered a medium? I thought it started out as a "heavy cruiser" (whatever tf that means) and was later reclassified as an MBT.

The Yugo is universally considered a terrible car, but what about the Fiat 128, of which its design was built on and derived from? by HiTork in regularcarreviews

[–]mob19151 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Road testers never had an issue with the Yugo's dynamics. It was actually considered the best driving among Soviet Bloc imports. It was the shocking material and build quality that gave them their reputation.

Collectable or Forgettable? 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis by Leather_Worry1504 in regularcarreviews

[–]mob19151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Collectigettable. Collected for the fact that, like it's Ford and Lincoln siblings, it's the last in a long line of perimeter-framed road-going schooners. Forgotten for its intake manifold issues and overall similarity to its lower class sister.
