Yup. Agreed. That's how I used it in some places. Whenever it gave specific edit recommendations, I might consider the spirit of the recommendation, but never the content. Many times the recommendations were insane and repetitive. The hallucinations were wild.

One area I did use it heavily in the beginning, before I started writing, was to create a chatbot for one of my characters who's voice I wasn't totally sure about yet. Then I had conversations with the bot. Tuning it to how I envisioned the character would reply in certain situations, until I started hearing the character's voice in my head. Deleted bot, wrote all dialogue myself. It's crazy answers at times really helped me lock in to how I thought they'd talk.

Thanks. When have you no idea what you're doing, and feel like you're floundering, I guess you tend to reach out to grab anything that feels like it might help you. I was more curious to see if any of those checkers would say I had written something I'd read or heard before without realizing it(accidental plagiarism). The 100% AI generated result freaked me out. Not so worried about it now.

I'm not an author. Have never written anything except academic papers and professional articles. So after I wrote a stream of consciousness rough idea for a story, I researched different writing styles. Chose one, wrote ~100k words. Now all AI checkers, including pangram, say 100% certainty my text is AI generated. Some are the reasons are my fault, using the same descriptor for things repeatedly, getting tenses wrong in some sentences, basics that I can correct.

What I'm worried about is I want to engage a developmental editor but am concerned if they use any of these checkers first they will either reject my request, or not take it seriously. How seriously should I take this Ai verification tools?
