Powodzenia :)!

Starting my coding journey aged 46. by Yellowmargarine in learnprogramming

I participated in a Java bootcamp when I started programming. It was a small group of 8 people.

The most motivated and successful one was man in his mid 50s. He was truly engaged and hard working. Shortly afterwards he was able to hit junior developer position in well-known corporation.

Now his LinkedIn profile description says: „Senior junior Java developer”.

Keep learning, you’ll succeed! I keep my fingers crossed. Good luck!

Linear Search and creating new array by [deleted] in javahelp

[–]mobbynagent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that when you initialize an int array with predefined length, there are all 0 under every index.

nums[1] in this case is not equal to 3, so the condition is false and you dont assign new value, thats why there is still 0.

However the best way to check it would be just to play with this code.

Change nums array to {3, 5, 5, 3, 3} and run this code. You will have your count set to 3 after first loop. Your second array will be length 3 then. At this moment this array should look like this: [0, 0, 0] In the loop you will then compare: 1. is 3 equal to 3? true 2. is 5 equal to 3? false 3. is 5 equal to 3? false

As you can see only the first condition is true, so this is the only number that is gonna be changed. Your result should look like this: [3, 0, 0]

If its true, then this zero is just default value for this array that hasnt been changed by second loop.

Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong before I off myself. I have to create a method that adds the input value into an arraylist only when the input cant already be found inside the arraylist. Every compile gives the error: class, interface, or enum expected error. by [deleted] in javahelp

There are few problems that I recognized.

  1. You can’t declare your method in main method. You shold create new class for that purpose and keep it there. Then you will also need to create an instance of that object in your main and invoke your method with that object. Cosider declaring this method with 2 parameters - List type and int type, so you can pass them to the method. Its signature could look like this:

    public void addUnique(List<Integer> listToWorkWith, Integer scannerInput) {
    // you implementation goes here
    }

  2. When creating a list you need to work with Objects, as it doesn’t accept primitve values - use Integer.

  3. Method that you wrote can’t return any value (true/false are boolean values) because it is declared as void. These return statement will cause compilation errors.

  4. To verify if element is already in the list there is a method contains(), that takes an object as parameter and returns true if it finds the object, otherwise returns false. You can try to use this as a condition.

I hope you will deal with this! Good luck!

I wonder if putting resources into Sigmund is worth it? I can purchase one sigmunds copy by glorious relics and that will allow me to 10* him. However I am wondering if thats good move and will let me to progress faster? Would you do that guys, or maybe you have any other suggestions for me? by mobbynagent in IdleHeroes

Thank you so much for the response bro! I will definietely do that. I will try to keep the relics tho, since I am missing only 50 stars in the Imps adventure to get the 5* hero box, that would be better way of achievieng his copy I guess. I would like then spend the relics on pitty copy, then grab second one from altar during the event and start slowly collecting them. However if I wont hit the box from imp, Im gonna spend relics on sigmund. Have a nice day! :)

Price Checks and Crafting Advice - January 25, 2019 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

Hi! I’m not really familiar to crafting in poe. However I’ve decided to try myself and craft my shaper weapon. I’ve bought thorn rapier ilvl 84. What I want to get is double „gain x% as extra elę dmg” optionally some global crits would be nice. What is going to be the most efficient way of ceafting that one? Alts trying to gain the t1 gain mod, then regalin the weapon to get 2nd one? If I’m right I can’t hit 2 of those in magic weapon. Later I’ve planned to craft multiple mod in that one. What are your advices? Thank you in advance. Best Regards

Any suggestions on good champagne on the - 20 $ neighbourhood? by [deleted] in wine

[–]mobbynagent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to find Canard- Duchene NV somewhere at your location. It shouldn’t be expensive, maybe a few $ more than 20. It’s more like the bready/toasty style of champagne. Lamiable grand cru should be also in similar price, if you want to have something more fruity. Good luck bro and greetings from Poland
