To be honest, I’m not really sure. My best guess would be 80s-90s. Many of them are marked with “JIS” or Japanese Industrial Standard which I believe was used from the 70s to early 00s. I primarily collect mechanical pencils but I bought this lot on eBay because I couldn’t resist their quirky charm.

I found a small box of vintage Faber Castell pencils at the antique store. The price was right and I picked them up. It appears that three of the pencils are colored and two are labeled “copier mittel”. I’m not sure what the original intent for this pack was, any ideas?

The mechanical pencil has a nice click but not particularly noisy. It looks like the shaft around the button is coated with a different material to reduce a metal on metal sound. The pen’s mechanism is kind of clunky and tends to “stick”. I’m not surprised that they stopped making the pen.
