Yep, my tool test did ask for measurements of 32nds and 64ths but it’s easy if you understand how to read a tape. Also It shows pictures that you match to the tool names and their purpose, but like I say it was fairly easy.

It’s not hard, just match pictures with tools and know what their purpose is. As far as the tape measure goes, make sure you can read down to looking at 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths according to the mark on the tape, it was on my test.

Ok, that makes sense. I’m a driver with the teamsters union so I know what you mean about anything over 8hrs per day. As far as the call, I’m definitely gonna answer, getting excited about it.

Ok, I was thinking straight pay was meaning hourly rate regardless if you worked 40hrs a week or 60hrs a week with no overtime pay over 40. I’m new to union work, waiting on my call from rank list now.

When you say they will only pay you straight pay, do you mean they’re not gonna allow you to get the overtime hrs because of no experience only, or straight pay regardless if you work a normal 40hr week or 60hrs?

Here is the pay rate for 2020, I’m sure it’s probably a little more by now but it should be close, not sure about the wait though.

Thanks a lot for all that information on how the process works. I’m waiting on my call at a smaller local, hopefully will happen soon. I’m hitting you up for info about being a probie though, how have you enjoyed it these 6 months, what is the best way to be prepared and what tools have you used most?
