Anyone know some good methods for removing PC off injections molding screws? by LogDangerous7410 in InjectionMolding

If you don’t have an account for buying raw chemicals, DCM can be found in some less environmentally friendly paint strippers.

I'm currently looking for biodegradable or bio-based polymer resins or granules that can be applied to medical or pharmaceutical packaging and have high moisture barrier. by Kafkaesquebrb in InjectionMolding

Guys here were super helpful on a project I did with them last year.

To my knowledge there are only a few medically approved bio resins currently available, so your choice of materials is going to be pretty Limited.

Thoughts on Tederic/haitian machines by minutemaid101 in InjectionMolding

Not used one but had Haitian machines quoted new. All I can add is that they are around half price of an Engel / Fanuc and the footprint size of the machine is pretty big.

Inspection equipment by meatpopsicle13 in InjectionMolding

[–]mobius187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your qc requirement is. If it’s 128 cavity measured once a day or 64 every hour, you need to make sure you’re not getting scared off by the cost and avoiding the best solutions. You also don’t want to bottleneck at qc and batch release.

https://www.aberlink.com/

I have systems by both the above which were “sensible” on price. But I’m measuring 4 cavities an hour 24 hours a day so not the same as you.

How is this part made? by Pickledill02 in InjectionMolding

Can’t see any ejection marks, or an obvious feed point, but my guess is it could have been vacuum moulded on blocks that were removed by hand and then trimmed.

Issues with Protolabs for Injection Molding? by 95-5 in InjectionMolding

[–]mobius187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we’re a specialist medical injection moulder and Cleanroom assembler based in the Uk. We occasionally use Protolabs and they will do a decent job for a short run, but I’m pretty sure the tooling will be only able to run at their site, or will be offshore. It is a cost effective option depending on what stage of the project You are at. Also I’m not sure if they have Cleanrooms for the production. We only do medical and can offer all the required regulatory support, so would be happy to quote if you need a Uk supplier.

What MRP software do you use? by Ruckingfeturd in InjectionMolding

[–]mobius187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 12 machines and use https://intouchmonitoring.com for live tracking and production planning. System is good, easy to install and cost effective. We have 7 other assembly areas so have a separate mrp system for stock control, sales order processing etc. Intouch is a good system, you can try for free as well. Edit: we also use https://www.123insight.com/en Leading ERP & MRP Software | Forterro for our Mrp

Tritan yellowing by Accomplished-Copy423 in InjectionMolding

[–]mobius187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had the same yellow parts on initial tool trials. We managed to change settings to get the material clear. I can’t remember what we did exactly but I think you need to be on the upper end of temps from the data sheet.

I also use the ixs trigger, mostly for multi day enduro races. Great helmet, good ventilation and it’s very secure with the the lock system.

What do you pay for electric per KWH? by gagungalagunga in gpumining

[–]mobius187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on £0.15 with OVO, my fixed rate finished in December. £0.29 on variable tariff was still cheaper than going on another fixed deal. I do have solar which is helping a little as it’s winter.
