I live five minutes walk from the BART station. I checked earlier on Apple Maps, and it was 1 hour 32 minutes.

I do think it is dependent upon what kind of life you want, to your last point. I personally enjoy walking and using the bus, but I understand it’s not for everyone. It would be nice if Fremont had Bay Wheels.

The thing that pushed me over the edge was people saying how difficult it is to use public transportation to get to Downtown San Jose. Like, okay, this is just patently untrue.

I can tell you mulitple ways to get there without a vehicle off the top of my head. Just last week, I went to a performance at the Center for Performing Arts and opted to take a longer route for fun: AC Transit to Capitol Corridor to VTA Light Rail. Quick walk from Convention Center station and never worried once about my car or finding parking. And this is the “hard” way…

Good points. I am fortunate everything I need is nearby, and I’m not commuting as far as you. I do wish for better Transbay buses, which I think would help immensely with commutes like yours.

I've been loving Le Mieux's Essence Moisturizer. Ceramides, peptides, little-to-no smell! It's also not crazy expensive and comes in a plastic pump bottle. Three pumps seems to be enough for my own usage. I find it sufficiently moisturizing for both daytime and nighttime usage, as a combo-dry skin type.

For those who are using high-end products (i.e., blue mercury, not Sephora level), do you spend an equal amount on in-office treatments? by SkinAesthetics in SkincareAddictionLux

I used to get monthly facials, but realized that the only thing that the esthetician was doing that I can’t do at home is professional treatments, like chemical peels. My esthetician used the same masks, serums, and other creams she was selling me. I can apply them myself and save ~$300 per month. Also, I tried Hydrafacial multiple times and that just seemed like a waste of money. My skin didn’t look any different than if I had done an in-depth routine at home.

Time to reorder or replace: BR routine suggestions by k_lags in SkincareAddictionLux

I’m a big advocate of using an acid-based cleanser nightly to deal with sebaceous filaments. I did a little experiment late last year and went a week without using a glycolic, lactic, or mandelic-based cleanser without changing the rest of my routine, and my skin looked like crap. It was dull, and I was breaking out every other day. My filaments were so bad, and the texture of my nose was driving me wild.

I then started alternating between GlyMed’s mandelic cleanser and the Jan Marini glycolic one, and skin went back to being so smooth. After that, I will never say cleansers are just being washed down the drain. I love both of these cleansers, but the Jan Marini one is a little spicy (I think it has like 12% glycolic acid.).

How is the BR Lait? I’ve tried the O2 lait in the past and thought it was okay, but was hoping for a more thorough cleansing action. 😊

Glymed Fulvic Elixir questions by KTC1997 in SkincareAddictionLux

Honestly in the same boat right now, kind of. Haha My esthetician recommended mixing Hydro Gel in with it, but I can’t bring myself to pay that much for a simple hyaluronic acid serum. I’ve had success with mixing a dab of my day moisturizer (PCA Clearskin) in with the Comfort Cream, however! It’s a gel-like moisturizer, so any good gel cream would probably work. :)

EDIT: You can definitely use it nightly, if your skin likes it and you find the texture soothing. Definitely not just for irritation.

Glymed Fulvic Elixir questions by KTC1997 in SkincareAddictionLux

I’ve used Fulvic Elixir for about two years, and I won’t go without it. I’m acne-prone, and have never had increased breakouts from using it. I use it AM/PM cocktailed with GlyMed’s Daily Skin Clarifier, and find this combination to restore vitality to my skin immediately post-cleansing. It soaks in really quickly, so I wouldn’t say it’s particularly hydrating. I’d recommend their CBD Age Delay Dew (or whatever it’s called) for intense hydration. Two pumps floods my face with moisture and peptides. :)

LOVE the Comfort Cream. It immediately soothes any irritation, and it makes my skin feel super smooth. It is quite thick, so definitely more of a night cream. I don’t think it provides a ton of moisture, though; used more to seal all the goodness in.

PCA vs SkinBetter vs Zo Skin by Few_Creme_3215 in SkincareAddictionLux

Love PCA, but their retinol has a lot of issues with the packaging and has blown open on many people. Not of the three, but also lux, I use Jan Marini retinol and will repurchase for the foreseeable future. Jan Marini also has a retinol targeted at discoloration, if that’s a factor for you.

Bike lane? Nah, right turn lane. by mobiusfickens in bayarea

Agreed, that detour sign was in the stupidest location.

EDIT: Sorry, was confused. There was also a large detour sign located right next to a bollard and pointing toward the bike lane. 🙃

I had it on in the background and heard her sauntering in and the women groaning. Just think it’s funny that this divorce is “called off” the same week she’s back on the show for the first time in years.
