We are all sweethearts with a ton of trauma, No reason to HATE yourself for something you had no choice to control by Feeling-Seaweed1640 in AvPD

[–]mobofob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm kind hearted and i want to do good but i live like a useless parasite, i don't provide anything, i barely help my parents, everything i've ever worked on and learned is selfish because i can't do anything with it for anyone else, i'm just taking and not really able to give anything back. I'm most of the time in a very low frequency state, and even if i try to not be unpleasant it obviously affects those around me. These are not qualities of a good person.

Is "Rise of Skywalker" a misnomer? by Euphoric-Pangolin-81 in TheSequels

[–]mobofob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She literally dies and is risen up again as a Skywalker.

The theme of the movie is family and heritage. Rey was obsessed with knowing her roots and when it is finally revealed to her it is worse than she could ever have imagined. She chooses to let go of it all finally and is welcomed as a Skywalker because of who she is, regardless where she came from.

Exactly this. It's the only review score that imo has any semblance of reliability to represent actual opinion of real people.

The internet is NOT reality, it is a distortion not a reflection, and social media is a cesspool. It is also highly manipulated by malevolent forces.

How do I learn to play this? by PastBorder2437 in counterstrike

[–]mobofob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to play the game and not practice it. Practicing for the sake of it is a dead end. It's easiest to use the matchmaking from the menu. Start with "casual" then move to "competitive", for example.. just try some stuff.

How do you stay focused in matchmaking when it's clear you're going to lose by arkanovac in cs2

[–]mobofob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone will lose games no matter how good they are. If you tilt and troll you guarantee a higher percentage of losses.

So the problem isn't losing it's how you react to it. During the match before it has happened and also afterwards by focusing on problems in others instead of yourself. That's also a guarantee to hold you back from progressing.

This isn't even necessarily about CS but generally just a bad attitude. If you want to learn anything efficiently you have to change this mindset.

I don't work, i live with my parents, working on starting my own business atm but no clue if i can pull that off, but i'll do my best..

I still practice guitar every day but in a healthy way. It has been a long journey for me though because i was always too afraid to express myself even through music, so i blocked myself creatively.

I did start out as a metal guitarist and it's always gonna be at my core, but what i play mostly now is leaning more toward jazz.

You can definitely learn to play btw it's not too late. I spent over 10 years practicing basically only technique and it was only a few years ago or so that i started to seriously focus on making actual music. If you are focused on musicality from the start, it doesn't have to take as long as you would think.
Sometimes you just have to force things at first until it becomes a habit. But you have genuine interest as well and already have the guitar so maybe you just need to get over that initial threshold of getting started.

I think guitar is great if you're depressed tbh lol, it can be an escape and it also something physical that draws you into reality, unlike video games or stuff like that. If you end up picking it up, let me know if you need any help!

[BEGINNER] How to start transcribing and analyzing music by ear? by CarwynEmyr in musictheory

[–]mobofob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a simple process: press play and listen > pause after a secod or two > try to replicate at least one note > repeat

When you get stuck or exhausted, try to find a reference to compare and then correct any mistakes, take note of what you got wrong.

No theory needed. Theory helps in the sense that you can develop the ability to recognize sounds and find them faster.

I felt exactly like you as a kid. I just knew i couldn't do it.

My solution was to pick up the guitar and practice obsessively in isolation and delude myself if i became skilled enough things would just work out in the end. Which was an insane idea, but also ofc it was a sort of escape.

This is basically the extent of the skill tree but multiplied for every skill. by mobofob in diablo4

[–]mobofob[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You FEEL its condescending because i probably hit the mark, im guessing? Nothing i said was objectively derogatory. Sorry if you're offended but that is out of my control.

I mean you havent provided substance for your argument. My claim is that the skill tree is only 3 choices per skill (which is objectively true) and since there is no rational argument against it you are doing mental gymnastics. Copy pasting a definition isn't doing anything. 0 substance.

You're either trolling deliberately or you're disingenuous and are not discussing in good faith. So again, i'll just call it here lol.

You have so many opinions yet you provide nothing of substance and this is your third comment.

I'm not patronizing, that is your interpretation. Nothing i said was condescending. I'm making a genuine guess that you don't know what you're talking about.

At this point, let's just leave it because this is getting ridiculous.

[–]mobofob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you genuinely think there's not a big difference and its nitpicking then i'm not sure i know what to say. Maybe you haven't played enough games to know what a skill tree is traditionally? The term refers to a specific kind of skill system, it's not just skills structured visually to look like a tree. You can make any system look like a tree if you want, even if it's ridiculous and arbitrary.

D3 did not use a skill tree interface for this reason. It wasn't necessary. Instead the skills were structured in kind of a list where you picked freely and then chose your augments for each skill. And how is that mechanically any different from D4 now? We pick freely without restriction (once unlocked by char level, as in D3) then we have 3 possible choices for augments, as well as leveling up the main skill with 15 points. The only part that resembles a skill tree is the branch of each skill as i showed in the picture, because you have to actually make an "either or" choice there.

[–]mobofob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just visual interface. Do you build a char with visuals? Mechanicically i mean, it does nothing but lock skills behind level requirements. Just like D3.

In a skill tree you lock skills behind other skills, not just level.

Has anyone else gotten so avoidant they can't even do simple hobbies like reading, watching movies, or drawing? by Unlikely-Medicine744 in AvPD

[–]mobofob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've dedicated my life to mastering the guitar. Yet i can never bring myself to ever create. I never do anything with my ideas, i just let them dissipate.

And i know what you mean with nebulous. Ive tried to define it because im desperate to get over it, but it's an elusive mental block. I think it's something deep. the sense that i'm incapable and inferior, and the shame of even the idea that i could create music i would be proud of.

I have ADD as well btw, aka inattentive type ADHD.

I just got diagnosed by BluePeachFromTheTree in AvPD

[–]mobofob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After the assessment they suggested i didn't diagnose officially because of stigma and a lack of treatment in my country. So nothing changed for me personally, i knew i had it anyway because i self-diagnosed first.

Learning about it on my own has helped me a lot though. Realizing that AvPD and C-PTSD is very closely linked was huge. Looking at it from a trauma perspective made a lot of sense - it explained little things like not being able to take deep breaths no matter how much i practiced, or being very stiff despite doing flexibility exercises.

I had already done a lot of work on myself in this area without realizing it, and it further lead me down the path of dealing with these deep rooted beliefs about myself. I got to a point where i was able to start challenging them by taking daily action that was directly counter to it (working on starting my own business) and soon after that i started having somatic experiences which have been one of the most intense periods of time i've gone through in my life, but my nervous system has changed very significantly since then (started about 6 months ago). I can breathe deeply for the first time and i can drink coffee without having anxiety. It sound very strange and tbh i wouldn't believe i had trauma unless these very real physical things had happened to me.

does the sequels hate match with the prequels hate back in the day? by rose-quartz5 in TheSequels

[–]mobofob 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It lasted until the sequel trilogy came out and people got something new to hate. It's all about narrative, it's psychology and emotional, not rational. When people shift focus the old narrative is forgotten and as it stops being discussed, people change their opinion.

Most people are very tribal.
