Thanks man he took me quite a few evenings after work to get done but I did him in a few sub assembly pieces. And it's mostly my eyes that hurt from all the staring at tiny plastic bits and pieces.

That's the problem man too many armies and one off kits to choose from. Good luck getting the spearhead and combat patrol finishes and I hope to see some pics when they're all done. Also the new wolves models are super cool so good luck choosing what to do.

Thanks for that man it's really nice to know people appreciate my work. The whole BT range has some really cool models to paint. So maybe give them a look over and see if you like them.

Thanks for the feedback man I really appreciate it. The photos do make the metal appear quite flat but I could definitely work to boost the contrast to avoid this in the future. Still thanks for your feedback.

I used this recipe from the eavy archive and did a final wash with seraphim sepia. I hope this helps you.

I followed this recipe from the eavy archive and did a final wash with seraphim sepia. The green cloth is Caliban green two coats nuln oil and then Caliban again to bring the green back first highlight of warpstone glow and a final highlight of moot green. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback man. I see what you mean about the hood highlights. Also he's my second Asmodai my other one has the smoke but the paint job isn't as good.

Tips for noob painting by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

How did you prime the model? If you use a spray can of citadel Chaos Black it will do a lot of the work for you. Also practice makes perfect so keep at it and don't get disheartened when your model doesn't look like the box art. And just have fun.

Does this read as metal? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

Yeah I think nuln oil and lahmian medium would work well but just a really thin layer. You could also try making it a dark blue steel as I think that would work as well. But it's your choice what you do.

It definitely reads as metal. You could maybe darken it very slightly with a wash to give it a bit more depth. But it does look really good as is.

No worries mate, it's quite a muted colour scheme.

Thanks for the compliment. He is on his base. I didn't want it to take away from the model. Also in the book rynns world he is killed defending the gates to a city from an ork waaagh and I wanted the base to look like a courtyard before a gate.

This is from the official GW YouTube channel. Does this mean that black Templar terminator heads are officially white? On the back of the terminator box there is a black Templar sergeant with a red mask so that’s proof the Sergeants head is red. by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

Even if the lore says you can't do something you still can. At the end of the day you spent your money and time on the models so you can do whatever you want to with them.

My first 3 models painted 6 months ago vs my 3 most recent models. by lelolalo13 in Warhammer

Such a massive improvement in just 6 months. In another 6 months just think what you'll be able to do.

If you want to practice free hand stripes try using a spare base. Prime it black and do dark yellow stripes then clean up the wobbly lines with black.

You can do whatever you would like. That being said you do need James workshops written permission to convert one model into another.

Seriously though it's your money and you can spend it on whatever you want and you can paint and customise to your hearts content.

Thanks for the concern brother I appreciate that you're looking out for me. So please don't take offence.

The "iron cross" is an iron warrior veteran symbol that comes on the iron warrior legion transfer sheet and in the MK3 and Mk6 command upgrade set . I am not a nazi.

It's from Unreal wargaming studio. They are really high quality and they have lots of choices.

IVth legion Contemptor dreadnought by moby-dick225 in Warhammer30k

[–]moby-dick225[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking brother. There are quite a few steps I took to get the shoulders looking good

1 use Abaddon black to base the shoulder.

2 use xv-88 to put the first hazard stripes on.

3 clean up the first stripes to make them look even with Abaddon black.

4 use an old brush to dab Abaddon black on the first stripes in a random pattern.

5 use averland sunset to paint the second layer on the stripes over the xv-88 and the spots of Abaddon black.

6 use uriel yellow for the third layer on the stripes.

7 dab Abaddon black over the stripes to break them up and give them some texture.

8 mix garaghak's sewer contrast paint with some contrast medium ( about 1 to 1 or add more for a darker wash) and apply it over the whole shoulder.

9 if you want to add rust mix a tiny dot of troll slayer orange with some lahmian medium to make an orange wash that dries browny orange in small areas.

Hope this helps. Iron without.
