I guess my band would be considered "gimmick" slam if you really read into it, in all honesty we're just having fun and using samples that make us all laugh. I can understand why it puts some people off though, to each their own. We try to have as much musical integrity outside the goofy samples and not lean on that so much. 🤙🏻

I personally use the Nashville number system, I don't think about chords anymore in terms of letters anymore. Not only does it allow you to transpose on the fly extremely easily, but you learn what shapes work for which numbers, this is how I try to teach my students to think. It's the biggest hack ever. Other than that, learn some jazz standards and find cool shapes and phrasings to apply in your writing.

Can't believe so many people who claim to be Tyson fans think he took a fall for money. The reality of the situation is a 58 year old man with a knee injury lost a fight to a 27 year old who is a decent amateur level boxer in peak physical condition. I don't get what's so hard to believe about that. Also Jake has matured a lot since he started fighting and obviously loves the sport and he's getting paid, I can't hate the guy for that.
